More great results on our '545' cam!

We wrapped up yet another '545' install last week on a 2011 LS3 - he already had a rotofab - we added a thermostat, full Kooks exhaust with cats and of course this cam. Great gains across the board! Not the highest one we've had but solid gains throughout. This car also had lower mileage than most, in our experience usually the lower the mileage the less they put down.

If you're curious what the gains look like from the cam alone, here's a link to a car where we just did the cam itself (already had rotofab/kooks). 2010 LS3 545 cam.

Cam sounds real good. This is one that is on my list of possibilities when the time comes.

Question though.....both the 2011 here plus the 2010 listed in the "cam only" link are LS3. Why is there a good 15+ HP/TQ difference between the two since they basically have the same mods?

I think it's great personally, compared to all of the other cammed LS3 setups that we tune here, it's very forgiving and mild. Now, if you're really lugging it down at lower RPM's you may feel it, but most cams will do that anyway.

Are you comparing it to the red 2010 on our customer build blog? That car didn't have cats (versus this one having cats), that explains a little bit of that. Otherwise, just boils down to each car being an individual, some make a bit more, some make a bit less. That's why we baseline everything that comes in also so we have a better idea of the gains.

Another question I have with a cam like this.....how are the stock clutch in the M6 handling the new HP/TQ? Another concern of mine is having to do an expensive clutch not long after a cam upgrade.

Not speaking for them, but I haven't seen anyone on the forums lately having clutch issues with their cam swap. Unless it's someone who destroyed their clutch at the track.

Not in an LS3 Camaro that we have done personally, sorry! Everyone has been hot for the 545 cam lately as far as our local installs & tuning.

Just doing a cam shouldn't hurt the clutch. What really kills 'em are a lot of burnouts, track use, clutch dumps, etc and you can destroy it at stock power with that

Nice results! Definitely have this one on my list.

Any way to get someone to video an LS3 driving around so we can see it's driving manners?

What do your installs for this cam usually include? Cam, springs, oil pump, timing chain, LS2 dampener?

Hi! I always suggest our Deluxe Kits as they're very comprehensive. We sell both Brian Tooley springs and also PRC, you have an option for either. My Brian Tooley Deluxe Kits include:

Brian Tooley .660" lift Platinum Dual Spring Kit
Brian Tooley Pushrods
OEM GM LSx timing chain (option available to upgrade to Katech C5R chain)
OEM GM harmonic balancer bolt
2 GM valvecover gaskets
1 GM timing cover seal
1 GM timing cover gasket
2 GM water pump gaskets,
1 GM oil pump o ring
3 Bolt conversion Kit w/ LS2 Damper & ARP Cam Bolts

We also sell the Melling 10296's separately. If you guys need help finding this stuff let me know, I can't post links to it per the sponsor rules.

Also got an idle video off of this car for you guys!
