Angry Dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree

Just got my car back from a hack job by a local shop and just about all my warning lights are on.

I have no headlights, horn or wipers.
Also traction, brake, stabilatrak and ABS warning lights are on. Any ideas on where I should be looking(relays, fuses etc).
Taking it back to said shop is NOT an option.

I would start with the fuses first and then go over the wiring harness.

I did that. Went over interior, under hood and trunk fuses. Changed the relay marked for HID's. I also checked the harness below the fuse box on the driver side footwell.

Any other specific harness I should be inspecting?

Thinking out loud here... Headlights, horn, wipers are steering column/dash controlled... traction, brake, stabilitrac are center console controlled, but I'm not sure if we can turn abs on/off. Is it possible there are harness connectors that are not connected? If not, I'd look for a common place where those wires are bundled to seed if they've been cut... maybe the firewall area. Also what about hooking up a code reader to see what is being spit out?

From what I can see everything is connected as it should be. I maybe be missing something though. No DTC codes are set.

Also if you have steering wheel controls, check to see if they work.

High beams do not work manual or auto.

Stereo controls work as do turn signals. DIC functions as it should. Displays high beams icon but no lights.

Sounds like you have a wiring signal issue. My bet is either something is cut somewhere in relation to the signal wires for the controls. Or a harness connector was connected backwards.

I was thinking the same thing. Also make sure no harness is close to a heat source like the headers or is pinched. Could be shorting out somewhere.

See if you can get a schematic for the engine area harness and look for connection points and or relays that are related to your problems. As Porkrind said check all connections for proper fit.

Take your time and try not to get pissed off about the situation start at one end and do a thorough inspection. If I were near you I would be more than happy to come over and give you a hand.

Thanks for the advice. I've taken your advice and pulled the console apart and checked the connections on the passenger side fender near the ECU. Also dismantled the fuse box to check the lower connections in the base.

I can hear clicking when trying to use the wipers and high beams, bad relays? Maybe one is stuck closed?

Do not forget to check all your grounds. Leaving one loose or disconnected will make this car do all kinds of weird S&#&! Please do not ask me how I know this.

So if you can hear the relays clicking there is power through the switch to the relay. Your problem is from the fuse box to the item you're trying to use. I'm back to the common point where those wires are bundled together somewhere being cut.
I also agree with whomever mentioned the ground wires. Since you had major engine work, I'll assume your motor came out and was put back in after the stroke job. Since they did hack work, might not know where all the ground wires connect. Or when taking it out, they may have missed a connection and it was ripped apart, but when put back together may have had some bent pins. I'd look at any harness wires that come through the firewall area and connect near the rear of the engine.
Wish I knew more, but I've never had to deep dive into my Camaro like this. I'll bet Ofer would be a good guy to ask!

Lol. I'll triple check them trunk and cylinder head, I'm not even sure I know where all the grounds are in this car.

I'm not sure if the relay is making the noise. It's a click, no idea where it comes from. I'm just looking for spit or cut wires.
Anyone have a repair manual for a 5th gen, that would help me narrow my search.
What's Offer's screen name again? I'll PM him.

I suspect that a ground wire is loose or unattached someplace. With so many issues, a common ground is likely the issue.

The are several important ground eyelets that are bolted to the engine and surrounding bay. Start searching.

You could always PM Nathan. With all the work and disassembly he has done to his car, I'm sure he knows where every ground under the hood is. I know there is the main ground at the front of the passenger side head and a bundle of grounds on the side of the same head by the exhaust ports. I think there is one on the back of the drivers side head, but I'm not sure. As for others, I have no idea.

Not sure if it helps, but believe it or rot, I once had the stabilitrac, ABS and power steering lights come on, and it was due to the front lugs being only hand tight...I torqued them down, and problem solved.
