Finally got a chance to clean my car and take a few pics of my new Michelins PSS tires. I love them! The chosen sizes fit perfect with our cars.

Front 295/35/20

Rear 315/35/20

How's the road noise compared to the Goodyears?

Less noise, better ride and more grip. Talk about win win.

Believe it or not, I only use soap and water on my tires and wheels. I'm terrified to use anything else because I worry about hurting the finish on my wheels.

I got lucky and I sold my 1400 mile GY's for a decent price. So the investment for the Michelins wasn't that bad.

The only thing I prefer about the factory GYs is that prounced lip they have over the wheel. I really like that for some reason.

I think you're referring to the 'rub strip'.

Mostly, it's there to protect your wheels' flanges against curb rash, and it probably does look better on some wheel designs than others.

Performance-wise, it's a tiny negative effect all around - a little more unsprung and rotating mass that you don't see while you're driving the car. Since rubber isn't a particularly good conductor of heat, I suspect that the outer bead filler areas of tires with a rub strip run just a little warmer.

I'm looking at a slightly smaller size of those Michelins myself, but I'll get to spread the blame around to several other sites besides Camaro5 when I do.

The curb rub protectors on the good/years are for looks only!! I have personal experience with them, the Mithelin's actully work. Just my $.02....

So you are saying the Michelin's protect the wheel pretty well? Any idea how they would be if I went with the 285's?

What about picking up sand and rocks on the road. Do they pickup any less than the GY's?

What about running 295 on the back...can you go that small?
What do you guys think about running an all weather tire like the Pilot A/S?

So does that mean the 1LE owners can go with 295/35/20 and 315/35/20 too since we have the same black 10 spokes?

Open question for you guys running Michelin Pilot Super Sports... What kind of driving are you doing? Reason I ask is because I really enjoy Tracking my ZL1 and I was curious of the guys that are overwhelmingly pleased with their Michelins, have they used them extensively on the track or are you guys doing primarily high way miles?

I've been really pleased with the Goodyears on the track with no traction issues at all given that the tires have had a chance to heat up. How many of you guys are running your Michelins on the Track and what are your comparison thoughts from a Track Perspective vs. the Goodyears?
