Seats; long distance comfort

Realizing this may be a little sacrilegious, but has anybody found a way to make the ZL1 seats a little more comfy for long distance cruising?

Wifey &i both find them a little hard on the butt when putting in 3 hr + runs.
I bought her a gel pad seat cushion, which she says works great. It's a little bigger & uglier than I'd like but I can t see it when it's under her
I tried a small foam wedge seat pad, a little smaller & less obtrusive, and it definitely helped.

Seat covers would just be in poor taste! But what have others done to add comfort?

Call someone who makes custom seats for motorcycles. Have them make you a gel pad that is exactly the size and look you want. Used to be a guy in California worked under the name Bitchin Saddles. Not sure if he's still around but he could use basically any material to make you that I think. But look on the web and just search for people and you should find someone.

Went from a Lincoln to the Camaro. On long rides my back would kill me in the Lincoln but the Camaro seats have more support and don't cause the same problem.

I guess comfort is subjective because I recently took a long distance trip (2 hours each way) and took a friend. We were both pleased and surprised how comfortable the seats were.

In most of their seats GM and Ford use low density foam that compresses down more than I'd like too. I'm not sure what you could do for the Camaro seats aside from getting some custom fitted Neoprene seat covers and maybe hide some extra memory foam in the seat cushion. The only seat I find comfortable in a pony car is in the Challenger, since it doesn't have to be a compromise to fit in a car with a low roof, but I don't like the rest of the car enough to buy one.

If you really want a plush comfortable seat like a Lincoln Town car you will have to use an upholsterer to get the padding to where you require. Do you sit with your wallet in your rear pants pocket? Black Sun asked that question. The number one mistake most male drivers do. The diagnosis for your wife might be to try different adjustments? Have you tried tilting the seat back?

I usually put on sweats when I'm driving down to San Diego from the Bay Area, Keep the wallets and phones in the cup holders and what not. My SRT's seats are way more comfortable. From what I hear the Recarros are much more comfy.

I drove all the way to C5 last year and made stops about every 4 hrs and the seats were just fine. I did have to take my wallet out of my back pocket and stuck it in the door pocket though.

I just got out of my car after driving it for about 16 hours and I did not have one comfort issue. I think this is subjective as others have said.

I have spent 11 hours on a trip and I found the seats comfortable. However the new Recaros were far better.

It's pretty comfortable to me personally and I drive 19 hour round trips. It's definitely better than the Saleen I used to own.

Several from our group drove 14hrs to Sturgis this year and quickly found out how uncomfortable the seats can be... It is definitely not ment for more than 3+ hours of sitting.

I guess it is subjective. I am at 16K miles which includes non-stop (except for fuel) round trips - Houston to Akton, Ohio. I think the seats are great, no complaints.
