GM Synchromesh

So I am thinking about changing my Transmission Fluid this week.
Can I use the GM Synchromesh or should I go with something different?
I believe it takes about 1 Gallon on a manual transmission.
Also will I need to put some kind of additive.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I, like many others on here, have had great luck with Redline D4 atf fluid. These cars don't use gear oil in the manual gear boxes. 4.2 qts.

My car had some binding/grinding with the stock GM fluid. I went to Redline D4 and 90% of the issue is gone.

I've had this fluid in the car for quite some time now and it performs as good as the day I added it to the trans.

Redline comes ready to pour. You don't need to add anything to it. The one thing I would buy is a 5 dollar pump in order to get the stuff into your trans.
