Manga flow 3inch cat-back exhaust

Hey I got asked by a guy who owns a tire/exhaust shop if I wanted to buy his old 3inch cat back. Said he will sell it to me and install it for $300. How good is this exhaust?

I have the muffler delete and catless headers.

Good buy?

Man if that is true then that would be a heck of a deal. That system cost around a 1k brand new. MagnaFlow is a good performance exhaust. ( I think ). From other cars that I have heard it on, seems to be a little quiet just on the cruise but at WOT that thing sounds mean. I am currently looking for MagnaFlow, but I think that I will just buy my brand new. That is the only why that I would buy anything for my car.

He said he bought it for 600 but I don't know if that was dealer price or what.

If it is the actual 3" comp series exhaust and not a 3" custom Magnaflow, that is a great deal and I would take it.

Best regards,

See if you can get pics to post.

Like others have said, if it's the Magnaflow 3" Comp system then $300 for it and install is a steal. If it's a custom made system it could still be worth it depending on mufflers, x-pipe, tips, etc.

I might have a JBA 3" catback here pretty soon that I'd sell you cheap. I'm gonna swap my stock catback back on since I got the headers. The drone is just killing me this summer. The only one that will ride to the lake with me is my dog. I dunno where you're at in OK, but I'm just south of Wichita. We can jack her up and install it here if you want.

You could also just swap it (the magnaflow) on there real quick to see what it sounds like. He could temporarily swap catbacks without worrying about tip alignment in less than 10 minutes with a lift.

Ok I went and looked at the exhaust and he said they are flowmaster.

It just has the two mufflers at the back it did not look like the one with the x-pipe.

It's setup to mound to the factory cats. So it will go from 3 inch from my headers to 2.5 for about 2 inches and back to 3

That's typical. Just about every 3" cat-back (including the 3" Magnaflow) does that. They have to in order to connect up to the stock mid-pipes.

For the same reason, when you buy headers with connection pipes or HF cats they will be 3" to bolt to the collector but the oulet will be 2.5".

Flowmaster is about a $600 system new from what I remember. Is it a custom built one or the American Thunder which is a pre-made system?

If it's custom made and doesn't have an x-pipe I would talk him down some more or have him put in an x-pipe. You also need to find out which FM mufflers were used.

No pics???

Pretty sure that's the Flowmaster American Thunder.
