Question Driving with only 4 lug nuts?

Yesterday on my way home from work one of my lug nuts came off on the highway. Sound weird knocking turned out to be 3 of the other lug nuts being loose and allowing the wheel to get out of whack. When I got it home (2 miles later) I jacked it up and tightened all of the nuts, on all of the other wheels too, with a 3' breaker bar.

My rear passenger wheel only has 4 lug nuts, will that be enough to drive it to the dealership and buy a replacement? Should I have them look at the wheel/axle from going ~50mph on the highway for 2 miles as I made it home?

Yes, have them look at it for sure. How far away is your dealer? My WRX had loose lugs and it messed up my axle and I needed to replace parts of it.

Be wary driving it there, perhaps splurge on the tow just to be safest.

You will need to make sure the holes in your rim are not elongated, if they are your rim is toast.

No problem if the 4 are tight. ( I made it home with only 1 lug years ago in a 73 chevelle. Limped home slow but she made it.)

Take it easy and you should be okay.

May have messed up the wheel and/or lugs.

Who left them loose? 140 lb/ft.

So why didn't you take 1 lug off each of the three others, put on the missing wheel and drive home normal ?

140?!? I just swapped my OEM lugs with Gorilla lockers and the owners manual says 110. The old ones came off between 90 & 100.
