Don't kid yourself, they will sell every one, and if the production totals are indeed 3-400 there will be bidding wars. I would not be surprised to see them fetching six figures, half of them will go straight to collectors for long winters.

The Z/28 is not for everyone and it sounds like you are not among the people who understand this car.
I think you are a little delusional myself. No way in hell will this car be able to hang with even the z06 vette and most likely will not even beat the c7 track package that can be had in the same price range.
I'm sorry I love Camaros but world class sports cars they are not.

Not being an ideal daily driver and being a pure track car are two different things. To be honest, the Camaro isn't an ideal daily driver for many.

The Z/28 does come with a radio.

Can I just say this....I LOVE MY ZL1. It is paid for and I can get everything I want in muscle car from it and more. I am getting ready to put some money in mods that will make the Z/28 irrelevant to me and the way I like to drive my car so if this rumor is true, I love my ZL1 even more.

And that means exactly... Squat.
2 different drivers and that is a very old z06 2005 model.

Put the same driver in both with same year car and that vette will trounce that heavy camaro.

I'm sorry stock for stock you can't compare the 2.
One is a street brawler and the other a sports car made for the higher speeds and better handing.

Sure you shove enough aftermarket crap in anything it can be fast.. but it's going to cost you.

Really, look at the list of cars right around the stock ZL1 and tell me if they are not world class sports cars? Many of those cars approach $200,000 and the ZL1 at about $60,000 competed and beat many of them.

Here are some other times to compare and the ZL1 is right up there with some of the Vette's.

http://www.autorooster.com/0-60-time...olet/corvette/

http://www.autorooster.com/0-60-times/chevrolet/camaro/

And here is a 12 Vette it beat by 28 seconds.

A prototype Z/28 was 3 seconds faster than a ZL1 around a short track.

As a ZL1 owner and as one who is extremely interested in the Z/28 I think that depends on your definition of "Word Class Sportscar". If you definition is solely on performance, there is no sane argument that the ZL1 should be excluded from the conversation. It performs as well as or even better than many Italian or German sportscars.

If your definition includes things like fit and finish like Italian leather, etc..etc, the expense of purchasing, the expense of maintaining, the club you are now welcome in, the place they park your car outside the restaurant, the girls that you can get to ride in the car with you, and the arrogance you are not entitle to since your name is on the title....then you are absolutely right...the ZL1 is not in the conversation.

I choose the first definition as it is the only definition that removes subjectivity, opinion, and personal preference. Definition one is measurable and when those measurements are compared...the ZL1 is pretty damn good and should be in the conversation.

I think by any measure the ZL1 is far from a World Class Sports car. It was built off of an existing platform in which they made good things great. But again it is by no means "World Class" especially running 12's.

No one is saying the ZL1 is not a respectable track car. And it is very good at other things too, including touring. You have one of the best all around RWD four seat affordable performance cars ever made. Respect.

But Chevy is saying the Z/28 will be on another level at the track. And they have not finalized the Z/28 yet. So maybe that three seconds becomes five. On a short track that's an eternity. We will know for sure next year.

So a good all around car is being compared to a car laser beam equivalent. No contest in the domain of the laser. And even though I am more of a drag racing fan, that focus is what makes the Z/28 so exciting and special. Just like a COPO.

Why do ZL1 owners feel compelled to come to the Z/28 forum and make posts like this? It makes no sense. It would be like me posting in the ZL1 forum how perfectly happy I am with my SS. It's irrelevant and nobody cares.

I think the Z/28 will be +/- $75K and they will sell all they make. I also think that most of the people who buy them will not need to finance them. They may finance them just to take advantage of the low interest rate, but they will not need to.

I also agree with the person who stated that if they only make 300 - 400 there will be bidding wars. If production really is limited to 300 - 400 they will sell for crazy money. Crazy to a normal person, that is. To the people who will buy them it won't be that much or any big deal.

The ZL1 is not a world class sports car, the Z/28 will not be a world class sports car either. Sports cars have 2 seats only everyone knows that lol.

My definition of a sports car is light weight 2 seat car with great handling and performance. Corvette is a sports car, Camaro is a Pony Car/Muscle Car.

In terms of performance cars in general, the ZL1 is an impressive package, but IMO a sports car it is not.

Well there are those carbon ceramic brakes and the racing wheels and tires oh and the tunable suspension... Seems there is a lot more than just the LS7

Lots of zl1 talk.. but this isn't a zl1.
This is a new animal.

Why are so many people comparing it to a completely different car.

You can find many articles like this describing the ZL1 as a supercar.

The Camaro ZL1 stakes its claim as a supercar on the Ring

The Z/28 is a completely different car than the ZL1? We use the ZL1 because it is the closest and we have data to go by, now if the Z/28 was 3 seconds faster than the ZL1 on the short track I would say they are very comparable.
