MY 2011 SS DAILY DRIVER

I like to thank you for checking out my build. In july of 2013 I found my 2011 2SS/RS M6 Inferno Orange Metallic Camaro. It already had American Racing Headers, high flow cats and K&N air intake. It also had Bravado Americana Wheels and Nitto tires. I lost the pics of when i got the car, But these are after the Heritage Grille I put on.

So originally I figured with the exhaust and wheels done. I wasn't going to do much else. Well boy was i wrong lol. At first I just tinted the windows 5% and drove it. After about a month I added some leds in the grill and under the hood.
I also polished the throttle body and few other things under the hood.

I pretty much just enjoyed the car for the rest of the summer. Then I found out how bad Nitto Invo tires are in the snow. So I bought four 50lb bags of sand and put them in the trunk and made it thru the winter somehow. The problem is I couldn't afford snow tires and my only other car is a 1993 Z28 Camaro that is not registered and a lot worst in the snow. I wound up actually selling the supercharger off my 93 and getting some stuff for my 2011. First up I got GM Dovetail Spoiler and Pro Custom Products RS Headlight Covers.

Next I got some fog light black outs, new SS emblem for the grill and flame stripes. I also took the car to a local dyno day at Tune Time Performance.

At this point the engine cover bothered me. It didn't really look like an engine to me. So I relocated the heater hoses and flipped the fuel rail. I also got Holley LS valve covers and painted them chevy orange with engine paint. While i had things apart I painted the fuse box cover, intake pipe and the positive post.

So still not happy with the way the engine looked. I had some time off work and decided to port the throttle body and intake, rewired some of the wiring on the coils and injectors. Then I painted the intake, relocated the evap solenoid and polished some more stuff. This took a lot of time and this is the only car in my household. Having it down is very hard I basically didn't sleep till the car ran again. I don't remember how long some of this stuff took to do but i do remember working something like 40 hours straight. with porting, painting and rewiring lol. Wife only had 2 days off and I needed the car running to drive her.

After some looking around I found the Transformer Autobot Edition front fascia grille decal and really like how it looked. I messed it up a little when putting it on but not realy noticable. Also got a new pulley for the belt tensioner and a new belt a little smaller because the pulley is a little smaller then stock.

I tried making one of those rad covers but didn't like how it came out so I scrapped it. I also painted the rear tail light bezels black and found a nice hideaway lic plate holder on Ebay.

I had been looking for a decal to match the flame stripes for a while and finally found some nice ones for the side of the car.

Now it's winter and I don't have a garage, I was looking for something to do. So I decided to paint the interior IOM and some flames on the doors. I wanted to paint the radio too but don't know a way to keep all the writing on the buttons, if anyone reading this knows a way I would like to hear about it. I just sanded down the inside of the panels and got some color match paint.

Thanks, last dyno day I went to it was 98 degrees the car did 476hp and 424tq and that is with 3:91 gears. My friend got a 2013 gt500 stock hp is 662, (his is not stock) he went on the dyno that day he got 636hp I don't remember the torque it was higher then the hp though. I currently am almost done setting up a 100 shot of nitrous. I plan on running 150 shot once I get a stand alone setup.

While I had the interior apart I decided to change the ABL from blue to orange. I also added ABL to the dash and put some leds in the doors to shine on the panels and in the pocket. Sorry pics are a little blurry.

So after looking around I finally decided on a cam. I went with Lethal Racing's Night Fury cam(Cam Motion). Along with it I got there remote tuner, timing gear, Melling 10296 hi volume oil pump, Manley .660" lift dual polished springs, Chromoly pushrods 7.400, ls2 dog bone style damper and some new bolts. After awhile I couldn't wait any longer I decided to do it in march. I took 2 days off work and borrowed a friends car so I could still drive the wife around. Everything came apart pretty easy the only thing bad was one of the spark plug wires broke when I took it off. Not a huge deal, I had also got new wires because I was planing on relocating the coils. Just wasn't planing on doing it that weekend. So wednesday after work took everything apart and got the new cam in. Thursday while I had everything apart I polished the water pump, timing cover and power steering bracket. I also had some color match paint left over from the interior so I repainted the intake, intake pipe and shield, fuse box cover, all the caps and ecm bracket. Since I was now relocating the coils I cut all the posts off the valve covers and painted them too. At this point I just gave up on sleeping till I was done. Friday swapped all the springs changed all the spark plugs and put the engine mostly together, still wanting to give some of the painted stuff time to dry. I started on rewiring the coils I soldered all the connections and tried my best to hide all wiring. This went into saturday. Now I put the rest of the engine back together. Since I polished the timing cover and it is hard to get at I also clear coated it for easy cleaning. I then ran into a problem my balancer pulley installer is not for a ls engine and it didn't work, so I had to go to my work and I wound up cutting the old crank bolt head off and welding the threaded part of the bolt to my balancer installer and then it worked fine. Around 2 a.m. sunday I was ready to start the car, but it was too late so went to bed. Sunday woke up, installed remote tune and started car up. No problems yay
