17" Rims

Will 17s fit over the V6 calipers?
These are what I'm looking at -

Those 20's are the ugliest rim in the world. I'm doing a racing build.

Those 17's you're looking at won't work.....not because of the diameter, but because the bolt pattern is incorrect. You must have 5x120mm bolt pattern. Actually, the 5x4.75" will fit....but it's not exact. I know that Bogart makes a 16" rear drag wheel that will fit over the V6 brake system, at least on the rear, not sure about the fronts. So I would assume there are other 17" wheels that would fit, but it's going to need to be the correct bolt pattern and offset/backspace.

I understand the offset and bolt pattern are off on that wheel. I'm more concerned about 17s fitting around the brakes. Thanks for the heads up Blazzin. I love how your car looks btw.

Yes, I would say that a 17" diameter wheel should fit fine over the V6 Brakes......(as I said before, as long as the bolt pattern and offsets are correct). Thanks for the compliment on my car. In "my garage", there are pictures of my car with my previous set of 17" Weld Wheels (installed over the Brembo Brakes). Hoping to sell my current wheels this Winter and go back to the Welds....I miss them!!!

17s fit on the V6 with no issue (generally). 16s can be run on the V6 brakes. Here's my car on 17s:

Pic isn't great, but it gives you an idea. I'm dropped roughly 2" all the way around as well.

Thanks for the info 2SS45th. That's a great looking car. I love the stance.

Parkermoeder, I'm building the car as an oval track car. No sanctioning body in particular but I want it to mirror my real race car.
I can't tell if you were trying to be condescending or not with you "V6" comment. When I finish this build I'd like to offer you the opportunity to come up here and put your SS up against my V6. Doesn't matter how much HP you put out if you can't get it to turn at the end of the shoot.

No turbo or power adders yet. I will being doing a CAI eventually. I'm going to focus on handling first. Pfadt stage 4 kit is in the works.

Sorry if I came off a little jaggy. Lots of guys here look down on the 6bangers.

Thanks! I too had a strong focus on suspension, just instead of cornering it's setup for straight line

If its a racing build, wouldnt bigger brakes be paramount? Why limit urself to the little v6 brakes?

Bigger doesn't always mean better. On the race car we ran 11.25" rotors. Albeit with 4 piston calipers. I'm still working out the brake situation. But it's in the works.
