Recommendations

I know this isn't a new type of thread but I'm hoping to get some recommendations for tires.

I have a 2011 LT RS with stock rims. Don't want Pirelli's again. Daily driver, mainly warm weather with occasional rain, zero snow. Thanks in advance

Can I ask why you don't like the pirellis? Just curious.

What do you expect out of the tires? What exactly will you be using them for? Normal driving? AutoX? Drag Racing?

The Pirelli's wore out very quickly, are more expensive than the other ones which are highly rated, at least better reviewed/rated than the Pirelli's.

Normal driving, nothing too crazy. I'd like them to be somewhat quiet but I don't care about that as much. Because we don't have inclimate weather, a summer tire would be great.

What is good about the Generals? Thank you for the suggestion, by the way.

Yes I have them on my daily driver. Slightly more dry grip versus the Pirelli. They have a little road noise but not bad. Wear should be slighly better. I like them because they tend to run on the wider side.

Was going to order the BFG's but the rears were out so I went with the General G-Max's. Says they will arrive Thursday, now that is fast shipping!

Thank you guys, I'll give them a review after they're on.

Wow! So I ordered the tires right before I made this last post and they already arrived at 1000 this morning. Talk about incredible shipping! I will be having them installed by Saturday. Very excited.

Great stuff so far Tirerack, would definitely recommend anyone to your site.

Michelin Pilot Super Sports are supposed to be one of the best tires currently available. Downside is, they're expensive.

Yep they are the tire to have for sure, but another downside is they don't fit stock rims.

They don't come in the exact size, but I think there are some that are close enough. Maybe 285's on the rear...not sure about front.

I know you can run 255/40 and 285/35 setup on stock rims, but if you're not tuned it will throw speedo off.

well you already bought them, but they are still Ultra-High Performance tires, they have very good traction in all conditions, both wet and dry....and they will last as much as twice as long as the Pirelli's. Those are the reasons why I bought them, and I am very happy with my choice.

Thank you for the input! They get installed this afternoon. How's the road noise?

I've got Falken 453's on my car, I'm a huge fan of them. Inexpensive, and they come in wide sizes, and they're quite grippy.
