Suggestions for Winter snow/ice tires

I live in Colorado Springs. I bought the ZL1 to drive and sadly that means bit of snow periodically. Someone suggested Bridgestone Bliztack snow tires. Has anyone Ran snow tires and what type?

PRO STOCK JOHN,
Thanks for the pics, That's what I'm talking about.
What size are you running and where did you buy them.

Pirelli's
Tire size, front P245/45ZR20 103Y
Tire size, rear P275/40ZR20 106Y

Same size as stock SS tires. Got them from a friend, but Tirerack sells them.

This was the first set of snow tires I ever purchased, and they are awesome. My car ended last year as a 12.3@112 car and I never had any worries on the snow tires.

Tirerack sells wheel/tire packages, or I would get another set of rims and tires, you could also run 20x9's front and back and 275's front and back, and let your stock rims sleep for the winter like I do.

The Pirelli Sottozero is GM's recommended winter tire for the ZL1.

See this thread:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...hlight=pirelli

I have a set of Factory Reproduction ZL1 wheels on their way. I will be ordering a set of Sottozeros in September to go on them. My plan is to swap wheels in November. The factory wheels and Goodyears will go to the basement for winter storage. The Sottozeros will be my tire from November to April which will allow me to drive my ZL1 on those winters days when the roads are clear of snow and salt but the temps are below 40.

I ran Blizzaks the last two winters, and only had traction problems leaving my driveway which is on a double incline.

+1 for Blizzaks, I ran them only 1 season, but they are great tires for winter driving.

My insurance company is charging me like $35 a month for a second car, a winter beater, so If I get a beater for less than say $1500 , it beats winter wheels I guess, plus don't forget winter is slippery and this means someone is likely to slippedy slide into your love toy, get it .
