After reading some more posts i agree that the camaro will lose some luster, but what car doesn't? The vette might be the pinnacle of american cars but there are a TON of them on the road to the point where they are just another car..So you should get what you want

My friend you're asking probably the biggest question for a lot of us car buffs right now. Besides the C6 LS3 being a true sports car and capable of performance levels not seen in the pony car realm but it can be had right now for a great price that undercuts or encroaches on a lot of it's so called performance car rivals.

If you want a new car and you're budget is in the $20-30K range the Mustang GT is the way to go. $30-40K Camaro SS all day and from $40-50k it has to be Corvette.

And for those who always want to talk about the need for a back seat if you're in the market for a Corvette then you have the means to have another vehicle that can handle any and all needs that a rear seat or more cargo capacity necessitates.

BUT, if your only planning to stick a child in the back every once and awhile...LOL beats sticking them in the trunk!

I agree 100% and I would add Nissan Skyline to the 60k range

A good car is a good car regardless of the make. I think its quite silly at the blind rivalry between brands that some people exhibit.

FWIW out the cars listed--price aside--I'd list them top down as:

Skyline --->Vette --->GT500/Camaro SS--->Mustang GT

I'm looking the same way you are, Ordered a 2SS/RS for MSRP, and since the Vette's are not moving right now, there are some killer deals out there!!

Get the Vette now, bypass the 15min of fame the Camaro is enjoying now for an all around better performing car. I'm most likely going to do the same, I'm working on a deal for a 09 Vette as well and if we get a little closer on the price that's the route I'm taking!

Hmmm...you sons o' biches. lol. Now you're making me think about a Vette!

I'm kidding. I still want the musclecar. I sat in the Z06...great vehicle, but was too small for me (yes I know there's reasons for that).

[QUOTE=Revo1;652491] And while the Vette is gonna get you to school alot faster, the Camaro is a 2+2, allowing you alot more cargo space (ie: friends, books, beer kegs) than the Vette, which is like a 2+2cupholders right? QUOTE]

i would say to buy the vette first and the Camaro later. Cant beat that deal on the vette and you can get a better deal and better options on the Camaro in a couple of years

I battled this same demon before ordering my camaro, but in the end, they're actually two completely different vibes. I love muscle cars and sports cars, but I'm really more of a muscle car guy than a sports car guy. Although I love the interior of the vette better, it fits me like a glove, and I don't LOVE the interior of the camaro, the overall muscle car vibe of the camaro fits me better. It got really tough when I found a blue 2007 vette with NAV, a magnacharger and only 9K miles on it for $31,500.

Same here, if I didn't have an 18 month old son I would be getting a vette. The deals you can get right now are unbelievable

I'm in the same boat, going with camaro over corvette because of children. I don't plan on taking them with me in it too often, but its nice to know I can pick them up in an emergency without having to go home and switch cars first.

The vette would be quicker because lighter, but the difference in money could put a supercharger on that Camaro and then you could have more fun by blasting past 90% of all the other Camaro's out there plus you would have some added room. As far as looks, they are both hot! IMHO
