I love living in Texas.
Loaded handgun concealed within reach is 100% ok in the vehicle
Hell, my truck usually has a loaded AR in it. You never know:p

Buddy of mine has a loaded AR in his 06 GTO trunk at all times. And he's had to pull it out before. Someone came at him with a knife at a car wash while he was getting items outa trunk he held it up. Told him to think about his choices. Guy bolted.

Great way to either go to prison or get shot. Or both.

Hey guys just wanted to chime in here, I did speak with the sheriff and he assured me that it was well within my rights to mount whatever I wanted in my trunk as long as it isn't loaded. He also added that because it will be paint matched to the car, it will be a lot easier to explain in a vehicle search that it is a show piece and it will be very easy to tell if it has been used before/recently.

I have received a few PM's about my mounting method so I'm going to post photos here. I wanted to add that I did attempt to find a clip in mount, but didn't find anything. Also because of its location, the odds of it falling out of the mount are pretty high. Therefore I went with velcro. Here's how I did it for interested parties.

Step 1: Remove bat grip tape, sand down to aluminum, drop off at macco

Step 2: Buy Velcro strips, use office stapler to create mounting straps.

Step 3: Remove trunk liner and use heavy duty stapler to mount strips to liner.

Step 4: Get a snow cone and wait for bat to come back from paint

Also, I wanted to add that I am aware that guns are more effective. This bat is merely for show (hence the Grey Ashen Metallic Paintjob) and will only be used if necessary.

so...in the case of a problem, you can say 'excuse me, let me go get something out of my trunk'?

re-think this

I guess one of these would be slightly illegal.

A stripper pole would be more effective, with said stripper in the passenger seat, and a mod worth bragging about..

She could be your ball washer..

It's ridiculous. "Excuse me, um can we stop the altercation for a moment while I go into my truck and retrieve my bat from it's pre-mounted clips in order to prepare for this somewhat unannounced and random beat down? Thanks!"

1) Possessing many traits inherent to Beavis and Butthead, my FIRST thought regarding "mounting a bat in the trunk" was that a fella can pick up all kinds of nasty things by doing that... and, really most bats are not even attractive.

2) Every state has different laws regarding what the definition of a weapon is, where you can keep it, what is "concealed," etc. My understanding in Commie Cali is that you may not carry a bat in your car... unless you also have balls and a glove. And in CA, you may never ever ever carry one of those little souvenir bats, as they serve no sporting purpose. Doesn't seem like they'd be terribly lethal in a street fight either, but... this is CA.

3) Make sure that thing is able to handle the G-forces that come with closing a trunk. That's a pretty decent inertial difference to deal with. You don't want it to drop off of its mounts, or pull your liner off. And, use great caution in compensating by gently closing the trunk most of the way, then pressing it into the closed/ latched position. I did that a few years ago with a rental Grand Am, and, without even using GREAT pressure, the trunk sheet metal simply gave way, leaving two hideous dents in the soft metal. If this happens to your Camaro, tears will surely be shed. And there is NO crying in Camaro.

4) Gun. Yes. Not quite as functional as a show piece, but certainly very functional as a usually no- show piece. I recommend a Ruger SP101 in .357. Fits snugly in the center console box. Jus' sayin.'

I used to carry a full-size metal crowbar on the floor of the backseat in my old car. Whenever someone would piss me off on the road I'd wave it out of the driver side window while honking. I never had any issues with law enforcement

Right! Not even CC laws here. You can keep a handgun totally concealed on yourself with a round in the chamber while having your loaded AR in the passenger seat in AZ .

we need 49 more states like az..if holder wants to sue them when every time the wind changes direction, then they (az) must be doing something right..
