Black chrome Rims with a twist!

I want to black chrome my wheels, but I also wanted them painted just like these redlines! Now I know of some places that do chrome work, but do they also paint? How would I go about doing a custom rim like this?

That's what I have. The whole thing is painted red (not just the lip). U read somewhere the other day about striping tape made for rims.

BTW, that red lip makes it hurt even more when you curb it. DAMHIKT.

Any place that does black chrome already does paint. The black chrome effect is done by painting a tinted clearcoat over regular bright chrome.

That is not true. Many places do authentic black chrome, and strip the finish from your wheel. Then they apply the chrome by electroplating. True black chrome is chrome that is filled with contaminants that turn the chrome a shadowy color or even black, not just a tinted clearcoat over existing chrome.

Thanks, I didn't know that is how some did it. I'll of the GM factory black chrome finishes that I have worked with have been paint over chrome.

update: I finally got a custom auto shop to help me out, they said its hard to paint over black chrome so they are going to powdercoat a gloss color to make it look like chrome. Hopefully these wheels come out to be the best looking 45th wheels. Oh and i'm getting back my 1969 firebird seats today from a upholstery place. Will post pictures when I get the wheels done in another week
