1/4 Mile Newb, My Time slips from C5fest 4, tips/input?
Hi guys,
Ive always seen some good analysis on this forum, thought id post up my slips, being an accountant, i figured Id keep track of all my runs in excel for shits and giggles. Mods: L99 Auto (377 rwhp / 396 rwtq) SP 1 7/8" LT headers, HF cats, CAI Inc intake, Apex air scoop, Lethal Racing Tune, Stock resonator, Solo axleback. Street Tires @ 24 psi. Last 2 runs had a Vmax ported throttle body. Morning of the first day was pretty cool. Obviously later in the first day it got pretty hot, and it was pretty humid all day. The second day was very humid/rainy. That being said, compared to cars with similar mods, and stock cars, and a couple ZL1s I saw, my car seemed to run about what it should have, but didnt know if you guys had any input or tips that you can get out of looking at my slips. I think i was only able to launch at around 1,400 - 1,500 or the tires would break loose. I know tires would help, but would brake pads/rotors/lines help me to launch higher? Thanks! Your first problem is you didn't let the car cool down enough on the first day. That's why the ET kept getting higher.

I did leave the car off, with the hood open in between runs. Didnt think to take the engine cover off until the next day. How long would you normally wait in between runs? Thanks! |

You're leaving at to high an rpm. Leave at around 1000. That's another reason your 60' sucks. I use fans and run ice through the blower. I can cool my car in about 5 minutes. |

All makes sense, def saw some blower cars using ice in between runs. I can probably run a switch to turn the fans on when I want. Guess if I get tires I can launch higher |

Try not to get hung up long in stagging. Car on/off/on etc. that will kill you. Sometimes it's unavoidable. |

I got my PB hot lapping, but you do need a cool down.
I try for at least 20 minutes depending on air temp,if its hotter than 1/2 hour. An ice bag on the intake manifold helps.

Even with a proper warm up my car doesn't hit its stride until the third pass. |

Came back down the return road got to the lanes and ran my PB before it got busy. My 99TA likes to be hot lapped once.

My earliest run was my best, and I came back around and did two more, but I was a little nervous my first run and probably launched closer to 1k like you said.

@ OP,
If your car is tuned, the shop probably tuned your fans to come on sooner. If you toggle through your display, you'll see that engine temp can be selected. I've been playing the L99 bolt-on game for a year, and I don't make a pass if the engine temps are over 200F.
