I took my car to the track a couple months ago its a 2010 SS LS3, only thing done to it was a CAI I was dissappointed with how I did.
Fastest I ran was a 13.91 @105mph, and that run was right off the highway. I just couldn't get the tires to stick at all the whole night. I cant really remember the track conditions, I know it was pretty chilly out and the elevation is 1070ft. Last edited by Neumatic; 07-03-2012 at 05:04 PM. |

![]() I was letting off a little after 1000' to keep my time slow enough so my wife could ride with me, and I didn't have a helmet. Then I just slowly crept up to about 13.75 with out them saying anything. Then the final run was a 13.60 and they told me to lose the passenger and find a helmet .I was just glad that once I stopped letting off that I kept improving my time with each pass. And most importantly me and the wife had some fun . Drag car in her future? Maybe

I just got back from Sacramento race way in northern calif. it was 102 deg and it was my first time down the track, oh it was mustang vs Camaro night. And only 3gen 5 came out. It was pretty sad I must say. Anyways I did four passes and my 1st run was a 13.1@. 109 mph my second run sucked I missed 3rd gear and did a 15.3 @98 mph, the 3rd run I did a 13.9 @105 and my last run and the track got a little cooler not sure what it was but it was a lot cooler. I pulled a 13.8@106mph. It's hard off the line and I see that's we're the best time can come from. Just wanted to share this with you guys and hope you have any input on it. Oh btw my car is all stock but with a k&n cai.

That was a great 1st run you had, especially in that heat. Always sucks missing a gear, but to make you feel better I red lit by .005 sec and then proceeded to miss 3rd on that very same pass
15.7 @ 68mph and a red light to boot .How was your 60' times? I can't seem to get any better then a 2.2xx. I experimented a bit last night trying different launch RPM's. I imagine I got better then a 2.200 on my 13.60 pass but no way to tell how much better it was. |

So, I ran my bone stock 2012 2SS, LS3 6-speed last night for the first time.
60' = 2.04 1/4 = 13.11 MPH = 109.16 It was 94* with the humidity here... Stock paper filter, stock intake, stock tune....the only "modification" if you want to call it that, is I removed the stock mufflers. This was at Toronto Motorsports Park (Cayuga) last night. I think with some better air and a bit better launch, 12.9's would've been attainable. What you all think? Is that good for a stock 5th gen?

Well...I had a WTF?!?? Moment...first round of eliminations I dial in at a 12.9, I stage and as I'm waiting for the last amber to light up I roll a little bit (im guessing my clutch pedal was juuuuust high enough to roll the car) and red light by .333 seconds.

![]() Its ok though, I think I would have broke out anyways. I lost .4 seconds on my 60' due to it rolling out on me and still managed to run a 13.2 @ 115mph

Just got back from Mokan Dragway in Asbury, Missouri ran the car about 10-11 times with a best time of 13.5 1/4. The big issue I was having was getting the car to stick while launching. Tried a combo of launch mode with varying RPMs and didn't really seem to improve or get worse. Stayed right at 13.5 all day. Was about 70 degrees for all of the runs.
Tried Burnout vs just chirping, and never went through the water pit. What are you guys with the M6 doing to get it to grip on the stock Pzeros? Exhaust dumps behind cats, adjustable coilovers/sways, tune, CAI, pretty much simple boltons and suspension work. Any info would be great! |

I had a great weekend, despite losing in the first round of eliminations both saturday and sunday both red lighting. Saturday I just happened to roll through and red lit by .333, obviously upset I stabbed it and ran a 13.2 @ 115 even with a horrid 2.6 60'. Today I wasn't too upset as I actually tried but red lit -.062, ran a 13.2 even though I was hitting the brakes so I could make it off on the slow exit. It wouldn't have made a difference either way, my opponent dialed a 13.50 an ran a 13.500 on a .001 light
. But overall I had a lot of fun and ran some good times. Last weekend was a blast for me, ill post some more slips later but here is the highlights of each day. Friday night I ran a best of 13.10 @ 114mph. 2.276 60' Saturday I ran a best of 12.94 @ 115mph 2.245 60' Today I ran a best of 12.71 @ 113mph 2.107 60' Not a bad end to the season that had me starting the season running a best of 13.9

I am looking to go with kooks LT headers, mangaflow competition catback, CAI, and tune. I am driving a L99 convertible (I know =)). I know this is a pretty common setup so I am just looking for what this setup is going to do in terms of HP gains, 1/4 gains, and 0-60 gains. Any input and suggestions would be appreciated!

How will the 1LE cars be classified on the fast list? Will there be a new specific list added just for stock 1LE cars if need be? They do have wider tires, different gearing(trans and diff), and NPP as an option.

Probably do a separate stock list for sure and I'd say bolt-ons too.

This thread seemed to stall so I thought I would throw something out. Let's hear some racing stuff. Anything will do. I'll go.
I think I have a racing addiction. This is the stack that has accumulated since I bought the car in November of '09. Gotta be a couple hundred slips here. I have no reason why I keep them and my wife has tried several times to throw them out. Had planned to go racing tonight but we have a weak front that stalled right over us and the weather is cool, but it has been drizzling all day. The front will be through by friday and the weather will be killer for racing: low temps, low humidity, low DA, But I have to work. This could be our last cold snap of the year. We don't have too much "winter" left and I just hate missing a trip to the track when the weather cooperates. If our winter is over, then it gives me time to get together a plan of attack for the best way to crack into the 10's. ps: sorry for the giant pic

I still have all my slips too. I won't get rid of them. And like yours my wife doesn't quite want them around much either. It's good to track improvements and see where you can improve.

Our tracks are open year round, but they are only "good" during the cool months. I run almost .5 slower during the summer. We have a cold front coming through today and another in a couple of days. This might be our last cold front of the season. I'm heading to the track tonight hoping for some -DA.

I would like to run to get new times with my mods, but oh yea, phoenix went from 2 official drag strips to ZERO in the matter of a couple months. So now its no racing or a 3 hour drive to Tucson!
