Michelin Pilot Super Sports Fitment Question

I'd like to do the setup recommended by Whiteside Customs (275 front/295 rear), or even 285 front/295 rear recommended by another member. I'm not sure if either of these are a safe/reasonable setup for my wheel specs and was hoping for a recommendation. If it helps, I'd like the setup that will offer the best performance, I'm not concerned about looks. Wheel specs are below. Can anyone offer any advice?

Front: 20X9 5-120 +20
Rear: 20X10.5 5-120 +42

Michelins run wide, so while the 285 would fit, the 275 would probably work better on the 9 inch front. The 295 rear is a s wide as some 315's so you are good there on the 10.5 inch rear.

If your goal is road course performance, try not to make the rear tire much wider than the front, or you will have more understeer. Preferably same size front and rear, but your wheels are too different in width to allow for that. I would go 275s in front, 285s in rear.

For straight line drag racing, you could go wider in the rear. Not sure how wide, I would look on Tire Rack's website. They have specs for the tires, tread width, section width, Etc. That will help you compare between tires.

Agree with bkscott, some of the Super Sports run wider than the typical tire. But some of the Super Sports don't, so take a careful look at dimensions.

I've ridden in the Whiteside Customs Camaro with the 275/295 combo. It handles like it's on rails! I do believe he runs a 10" front and 11" rear with those tires too. He can probably get you a pretty good price if you call them.

I second the wide comment, they do run 'true' or a little wide to spec. I've got 255's up front and the 295's out back and they are phenomenal tires! On your wheels I'd also say running the 275/295 combo should work good.
