L99 OIL FILTER LOCATION

L99 Oil Filter Location?

Does any one know where the oil filter is located and is it verticle or horizontal? Horizontal usally means one heck of a mess during replacement

The L99 has the oil filter mounted vertically on the driver's side rear of the engine. If you position yourself just behind the front driver's side tire and look towards the center on the car, you'll see the filter.

I'm very familiar with this because I had my oil changed yesterday by the selling dealership and the oil filter was leaking. I found oil hanging off of the filter when I arrived home. I cleaned it and made sure it wasn't loose and then drove a few more miles only to find more oil on the filter. I ended up replacing it today. What fun!

Thanks!

Thanks for the update. I usually change the oil myself, it gives me the chance to look things over.

Hmmm, never saw under an L99 before. Not sure how L99 people are accidentally draining their tranny fluid instead of the oil on accident.
