OBVIOUSLY your dealer is a BONEHEAD, as you could have gotten it from the factory that way!!!

Find another dealer.

Well, I just had my car in the shop for the 5th time for the PDIM. I'm not really sure it's worth it any more, but GM Corporate asked me to take it in, so I did. I'm hoping that they learn something from my experience and can make some fixes in future updates that will help the masses.

I'm at DB/DD, and still have the following four issues, two of which I feel like should be fixed by now.

1) Static/popping. Mostly intermittent, but sometimes it's so constant that you can't hear anything BUT the static. The only fix for that is to unplug the device.

2) Still have the "..." lines in playlists, and sometimes it causes the entire PDIM module to crash. It used to crash the device, now it just crashes the PDIM, and the only way to "reboot" is to unplug the device.

Then there are 2 repeatable issues that I suspect everyone has, and I'm hoping they can fix them in an update if they know about them.

3) If I get or make a call on my phone, even after I tell my phone not to use the bluetooth connection to my car, my radio no longer functions until I end the call. The ONLY button/knob that works is the volume. You can't stop, go forward, backward, or use the menu button at all. This may not seem like a big deal, but if you're listening to an audiobook, it's a deal breaker. You can turn the volume down, but after the call, you have to back up to where you were, which can be a complete pain if the call was any length of time.

4) Also related to audio books, the position counter only goes up to 99:59. If you listen to audible.com audio books through a supported device, it won't count right after you get to that point. With DB/DB starting the radio up w/ a counter somewhere past 99:59 would cause the device to crash. DB/DD works better, but 1 time out of every 10 or so the book won't start at the right index.

Combining three and four creates a real PITA situation, as when the call comes in, you can't even check the counter to see where to back up to after the call is over.

3 and 4 should be fixed easily enough, as I suspect the software isn't written to handle these situations and can be. 1 and 2 are obviously causing problems for GM, and though they may be related only to Apple devices, if GM is going to say that the PDIM works w/ Apple products, then it needs to work with Apple products.

GM Corporate is very interested and calls me often asking for and giving updates. They say they'll "compensate" for the trouble once everything is fixed. We'll see...

Try the Florida section of the forum and ask around, someone certainly has had a good experience that they would share and give you a recomendation.

and seeing as how you are in Orlando.....is must be more than one there.

GM just wants me to accept and live with song data loss and intermittent ipod connection drop. After talking to GM CS and to the dealer, they now say that part 2297219 is not even for the Camaro.

"the DD software equipped module is not meant for the Camaro as the DD software adds pause and play functionality which the Camaro radio doesn't have. If you've got the DB software that is the latest and greatest software that is meant for the Camaro at this time."

Yet another problem with no fix. Swell.

This is what they told me as well. Then they went ahead and put in part 2297219 anyway, and though it works better, it still doesn't work well. I believe them when they say that DD isn't for the Camaro, yet it clearly works better. I guess we can only hope that they come out with at least one more software update that IS for the Camaro that resolves more of our issues.

well I have the DB/DD module....and mine works like a champ....the only difference between me and the people still having issues is that they all are using some sort of APPLE hardward, either an IPhone, IPod, OR IPad. I have a different phone (its an antique, lol) and as far as playing music, I use a flash drive, or fpor long trips I use me ZUNE. and ever since I did the upgrade a few months ago to DB/DD, its all operated flawlessly.

Carl Black is cool, I installed the #22872777 myself, went there with some other diagnostic thing, mentioned "Hey, my USB doesn't work?!?" And they updated my radio at no cost! Works great! I'm using a regular flash drive for all my music. They've been really cool with me there.

from my understanding, it will only play mp3 not mpeg-4 formated songs, on itunes you can convert them to mp3, this is what I did and now all my music is listed.

Now I upgraded from an iphone to a samsung galaxy s2 android, and it's not supported

All,

I'm experiencing the same popping and crackling with my radio. However, mine is a 2012, just built in October. I would think my radio would have the latest hardware/software updates to date. To include the above mentioned TSB.

Now the funning thing is, I hear the popping and crackling with my iPhone and while listening to XM. Not sure if it does it on the FM/AM since I never listen to regular stations. Could this issues actually have something to do with the AMP instead?

the real problem is the fact that you are using a APPLE product.....whethger its a IPhone, IPod, or IPad.......the ONLY products that are having this problem regardless of which HW/SW version you have are APPLE products.

if you go back and read post after post and the only people that have this issue are folks which are using those products.

I'm having the issue listening to XM as well as music through my iPhone. Any chance it might be the amp?

I have DB / DB and I constantly have indexing issues. The pop/static problem is intermittent and impossible for me to reproduce at the dealership.... the track names and playlists being displayed as "..." happens constantly.

I found that it doesn't matter if I use my Zune or new iPod Touch; the static/pop/index issues are there. Index / track name issues are less of a problem if I keep my devices less than half full... which sucks.
