2015 Production Started 6/13

Anyone know if there will be any ZL1 changes for '15? I talked to a buddy at GM and production of the 2015MY started last Friday. I don't see anything on the Chevy website though for 2015's yet.

You can see all the changes in the order guide linked and discussed in this thread:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=352604
But really it's a few color changes and some minor package changes that don't impact the Zl1.

Congrats you'll love the car!

Still pretty low numbers, winter stoppage for tires certainly effected production.

I bought my wife a new 2014 Z51 Stingray a few months ago. I have a 2012 ZL1 as my toy. Both are amazing cars but I prefer the ZL1, just seems to be a funner drive.

I am comming out of a CTSv, the Z is Crystal Red, recaros and full load auto.
DW (darling wife) drives a 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT it is one heck of an SUV!
I told GM Customer Service get the hold off and get it shipped or I will come and trailer it myself! Darn shipping holds anyway...

Is 2387 total camaro production or just ZL1 production for 2014?

Can anyone confirm the final ZL1 production #s for '14? The '15 will mark the end of an era for sure.

So far over on the ZL1 registry site, this highest vin for a 2014 ZL1 (coupe and convertible) is #1924

I'm going to guess that total production for the 2014 MY will be right at 2000 or so.

Wouldn't this indicate at least 2387 2014 ZL1's were produced?

Yes. Which means that likely 2400ish ZL1's were built for the 2014 model year. This is a steep decline from the nearly 8000 that were produced for the 2013 model year.

The Corvette Stingray I would surmise is responsible for the majority of the decline since both cars are in the same price range and category. If the 2015's have the same low numbers one has to wonder if there will be a ZL1 for the 6th gen.

Don't forget they stopped production for a month or two back in early 2014 due to the cold temps.

I think it was closer to four months, pretty large percentage. Tires was the issue.

Not to mention lackluster sales and excess previous year inventory.

I wouldn't be surprised that the '15 numbers will be low as well. On the other hand, its hard to tell. Being that the '15 will be the end of the 5th gens, perhaps a surge may happen and a handful of people may decide to buy (in case the 6th gen doesn't live up to the power level of the 5th generation). I would've waited and bought a '15 but the '14 changes were good enough to push me to buy sooner.
