I'll not tall but I am wide (bummer) so they would not fit me at all. One reason I bought one of the last 2013 in my state as it had all of my preferred options and I wouldn't have got the Recaros anyway. I do wish my seats had suede inserts which I might add later on.

Would 6'2" 205lbs be considered to tall and/or wide?

That can vary from person to person. Probably not though. I'm a good 3 inches taller and weigh more than that.

I wonder If any members with the Recaros could take measurements of where the bolsters begin to kick out, at the waist and shoulders. Would be quite helpful to myself and others that are a bit on the bigger side.

Nope. I'm 6'3" 210 and they fit me like a glove.

I posted this in another thread but I believe the recaros in the Camaro are very close cousins to what was in the GTO. I'm 6.9" and am very comfortable for 4-5 hrs at a time in my GTO. I don't believe they are the same as what is in the cts v.

Just did the same measurement on the GTO seats. It's identical at 20" stitching to stitching on the backrest side bolsters.

Some of the wider members of my gto club have smashed the side bolsters down to nothing. Mine are perfect after over 6 years. People get in my car and remark on how nice the bolsters are. Most of you will have the same result. But if you are built wide and have big legs you will probably flatten the bolsters out around the 2-3 year mark.

I would go to a chevy dealership and check out a Camaro with and with out recaros to make a decision on ordering them , having said that if they were available in 2013 I would of ordered the recaros.

If you didn't know or it hasn't been said it will be much more expensive to add them later than to just go ahead and get them.

They're not close to the GTO seats.

Honestly get the recaro's. Its the best new feature they added in 2014. There is no downside imo. I 100% guarantee you someone will be more then glad to trade you for the regular ones plus cash if you don't like them. Everyone has been drooling over them for weeks now since they came out.

The pros out weigh the cons since there isn't much. I will plan on ordering the recaros, but now I need to figure out if I should do 1SS vs 2SS. That is for another thread

Thanks guys

I really like the stock SS seats honestly and would not invest 2K into those. I'd rather buy a cam swap kit from Vengeance Racing for 1999$ installed and tuned LOL

Seriously, they rock, but its too expensive for me, AND I love the stock seats.

I am 6'3" and my head hits the head liner in a GTO. How are you fitting in one at 6'9"? We are talking new style GTO right, not one from the late 60's?

Recaros vs factory seats

Posting this here as well just so I can get as many ideas on how to show the buckle touching the panel.

Here's a picture of where the buckle rests when it's hooked into the shoulder strap/clip. This wouldn't be an issue, but I gave my sister a ride today, so she had to buckle the seat belt into the shoulder strap/clip. Normally it is undone.

I think (not sure), but I think they raised where the stop for the buckle is located. Here's a picture of the back of the belt:

This is a picture of my door panel after the drive home.

Now, you're probably thinking I'm talking about that white spot - not exactly, the white spot is where the buckle hits when it's not hooked into the shoulder strap/clip. So a week of driving and I've already got visible white rub marks on my plastic - I'm sorry, but that's just flat out unacceptable.

If you look at the top corner of the picture you'll see a section of the door panel that's a different color than the rest - yea, that's from a 15 minute drive.

This goes back to my question of "how did dozens of fleet drivers, driving tens of thousands of miles miss this, but I find it before I even finish my break in.

All I can think about, is what happens when I autocross? Do I need to put tape over my seat belt buckles so they don't scratch up the door panels?

If anyone has any ideas how I can visually show how much the buckle hits the door panel that'd be awesome.

The other flaw is the loop starts tearing away from the seat. I feel bad for our members who paid 2k for seats that are flawed. The bigger question what's being done about it. This is unacceptable.
