KooKs Headers and Corsa Catback will it need tuning???
I will be installing a set of Kooks Headers in the Morning.I already have a Corsa Catback Exhaust installed.I will be installing a TVS-2300 MagnaCharger in 4-6 weeks at which time it will get tuned. Will I be OK running the Kooks headers and Corsa Catback for that long without getting it tuned?I don't want to do anything that might hurt the engine.I will put atleast 1000 miles on it during this time...

Can't wait to hear your system... I'm also considering Kooks with my Corsa Catback. I don't think you will need a tune after the headers from what I've read but don't take my word for it...
Videos please...

I'm going with the same set up. If I was you I'd just save the money and tune it all at the sametime. You won't see as much HP gains and you might get some codes from the O2 sen but I don't think you'll hurt anything. I can't wait to hear that monster Please post a video after the install!!!!!!!

You will be fine in the interim. You will be leaving power on the table for sure, but won't be hurting anything at all while you wait for your blower.

Yeah you will be fine with no tune. Just wait till you get the SC on.

Will the headers and catback make the car run richer or leaner.....
I was told by a local tuner that it would run richer not leaner..... |

Nah - shouldn't have a problem. Maybe codes, but I'd just be easy on the car until the 2300 and tune.
That's going to be so bad@$$

I am blown away...... ![]() I have a smile that want be going away anytime soon.... I know it is just my opinion, but I believe this is the best set up I have heard.... ![]() It sounds like a race car on the outside and just right on the inside..... ![]() I couldn't be any happier with the KooKs Headers or Corsa Exhaust......

The calibration is for more than just the catalyst inefficiency light that is displayed on the dash.
There are also parameters for o2 sensor location and the heaters that will improve cold start and part throttle/closed loop operation. You can increase efficiency in many ways, and crisper response, safer operation, and all around a more OEM like quality of the calibration will help. And yes, you get some horsepower out of a custom tune, too! ![]() You're original question... you will not damage the engine. You air fuels will be safe until you can have it precisely dialed in by a chassis-dyno shop. Chris Rose |
