Turned The Nannies Off

Someday, someday I'm going to the dragstrip. So every few months, I wait til it's real late at night and take my SS out on some backroads here in Mississippi.

The problem is I'm not very good! My takeoffs are just not great. I bog a lot. And I don't really know why. I hear the high engine RPM's and then when I take off I hear them drop. That's a bogging it as far as I know. I probably bog it 1/3 tries.

The other thing that happens - I let the clutch out too slow. It kinda doesn't come all the way out and the car feels like it's floating. It's hard to describe. It can't be good though, right?

But tonight I turned off the nannies, and generally speaking I did better. I launched at 2800-3200 just depending on my nerves, ha, and got a nice chirp, and then took off. I didn't nail it every time. But I did better than usual.

The shift from 1st to 2nd gave a much bigger chirp with the nannies off. Really like that part.

But anyway, nothing bad happened with the nannnies off, and unless I was imagining it, I actually seemed to do better with 'em off.

Any advice would be welcome!

First off never run your car hard with traction control on! The track is totally different, your gonna find all that street practice won't mean much there. The track is very sticky, your gonna have to get your practice there man!
