Thumbs down Methanol injection questions

Ok guys, this can be a thread for some who are wanting to learn more for methanol injections, I know I have tons of questions myself and I'd be interested in hearing yours too. So shoot.I've heard running 50/50. 70/30. And 100% methanol....... So you can see we're my confusion begins... I've recently purchased an AIS system with dual spray setup. This will be going on a camaro with d1sc with blower cam and other supporting mods currently making 700rwhp. Soo what ratio is safest and healthy for the motor as well as making some more power. Thanks alot!!!

I was told to run 100% meth and I'm 700+ RWHP on a Vortech. I got more than enough fuel so meth is only to bring AITs down not as a fuel replacement or power.

Are you running stock bottom end?

1026rwhp here with ysi on forged rods/pistons, stock crank. . 100% meth. Not tuned for meth just added as a safety feature. I have an alky control dual m10 nozzle setup with MAF reference.

That's incorrect. If you are looking for cooling you want it at least 50/50. It's the water that cools not the methanol.

I went off the recommendation of Julio at alky control and my intake tube gets cold to the touch when meth gets added.

You could try all ratios and datalog and see which cools the best.

So why do people add distilled water? Think about it.... Can't burn water...

100% meth is a great saftey net. Yes, it will aid a little in cooling but if you are looking for the full benefit it needs to be near a 50/50 mix.

Very true. But that would requir me getting it re dyno tuned every time I swap ratios. That can get expensive I'd like to have the right ratio the first time around.

Maybe it was because the older pumps couldnt handle straight meth? I honestly dont know. It seems everything I have read says 100% meth makes the most power. You arent cooling in the combustion chamber you are cooling the intake charge. Where is a scientist or chemist when you need one?

didnt read all of it yet but seems to support Jamie for pure cooling purposes.
