2013 LS2 Body vibrations at 100 mph
Took my baby (Camaro 2013 LS2, auto, stock 18" wheels) to track for the first time. All is great and fun, but at 100 mph and over the car's body starts vibrating pretty noticeably. The feeling reminds the feeling of the very narrow rumbles on the road before some ped crossings or EZ-Pass checkpoint at Hudson tunnel. The steering wheel, however is not vibrating - it certainly feels like body vibrations. A 100 mph point is very reproducible - until speedo hits this number the ride is absolutely smooth.
So, my current theories: 1. Open windows are contributing (very unlikely) 2. Re-torque all wheels 3. Re-balance all wheels 4. Remove high-wing from the trunk (was there since purchase), as it's middle point is handing w/o any support and might be vibrating on high speeds Anything else you guys could think of? |

You have a 2LS not a LS2. A LS2 is a engine code not a car. Do you race the car? If not dot go that fast. It's under warranty. Go ask the dealer.

It is for sure from having the windows down.
Put them up, and it goes away.

I track my car and I don't have a problem with my high wing and I have been well over 100.

Finally, this year I made it several time to track. Open windows indeed put the whole body into violent vibrations. After a bit of experimenting I found that upping the driver's window to about 1/4 and passenger's to 3/4 doesn't produce vibrations yet I can comply with the requirement to have windows open.
