forgive the dumb question(s), but...

I'm new to this whole thing...so what exactly is this Camaro5 Fest that I'm seeing here? It appears to be a weekend of drag racing and autocross, so that much I've gathered.

I'm in Houston area. Figured it'd be fun to get out and run on the strip a time or two, since I've never done that...would I need to register to do that? Outside of that, is it just a bunch of vendors and hot Camaros running around?

If it's just a weekend of goodness, and there is anyone that's going to be bombing out from W. Houston area that Saturday, let me know, and I'd be happy to roll with. I'm near Hwy 6 and 10.....

If you've never run your car down the drag strip this is the perfect time to do it. This is what we made this event for. So that everyday Joes and Janes can come out and have fun with no pressure and no a-holes laughing at you because you're new to the scene. We are safe and abide with NHRA rules so you learn how it is done but with other people who are just out to have fun.

Autocross as well. Most of us are anything BUT pros. Just want to throw it around in a safe and fun forum.

The hotel parking lot is the funnest part of all. Whether you drink or not it's a blast hanging with everyone and having fun.

Vendors are friendly and helpful and lot's of ideas and stuff for your car.

Plus the car show is really cool. Of course the parking lot at night is like a big car show anyway. hahaha

For me and Bonnie it's the funnest event all year. You can't go to this and NOT have fun.

100.00 get's you unlimited racing and entrance for one driver. 20.00 extra per person. If you don't race at all it's only 20.00 per person.

All this being said I have not looked into it yet. I"m going by the norms as far as price.

PQ summed it up pretty good. It's a fantastic event to go to for any Camaro owner / enthusist.

Also since you're in Houston, you should check out the Houston Camaro Club, we're the hosting club for C5 fest this year. If you hang out with us or come to the meetings you can learn more about C5 fest.

Shall we start a list of oft included events...

I'll start...

Parking lot luggage cart races...

Kyle may not be there with a golf cart.

For the first time in Circle history there will not be unanimous attendance.

BUT, to add to your list, the Texas Bar.

PS, Let me know if funds are needed.

This sounds like a wicked good time.

Now I just gotta convince my wife to relieve me of kid duty that Saturday so I can make it out. Might see if I have the time to take Friday off, too, but pretty sure I don't...either way, I should be out there that Sat! Gonna register soon

Thanks for the info, folks.

Find a way to stay late in the parking lot. You are more than welcome of course. Find us and you'll have a blast.

Easiest way to find randy is look under the cars. He'll either be passed out laying under one or walking to another spot in the parking lot by walking under them.

oh yeah! It's already been cleared with the wife, so I'm planning on being up and on the road to Baytown early that Saturday, so I'm going to make a day of it! I wish my little dude was a wee bit older, as I think he'd LOVE this, but at just a bit over 2, his attention span/endurance for an all day thing like this wouldn't be great. He does love the 'maro, though..."DADDY FAST, FAST!"

Look forward to this. I've only recently become a member of the Camaro world, but I get the feeling it's filled with my kind of folks

Camaro5FEST is a Camaro5.com social event with some car activities. Don't get me wrong, the car activities are great. The real reason to attend a C5FEST is the PEOPLE. Come to one C5FEST and you won't want to miss the next one.

We don't do autocross. We CamaroCross. What's the difference? The course is designed for RWD Chevy BowTie muscle. It is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.
