You want to buy a Camaro, what does the spouse get in return?

So let's say you are about to buy a new Camaro (or have already bought)...and your spouse says "If you're going to spend ($25k-$65k) on a new Camaro, then I'm going to spend ($25k-$65k) on a ___(fill in the blank)__"

1. What is the __(fill in the blank)__ item?

2. What is your reaction

My wife just got a Mazda C5 about 6 or 7 months ago.
To be honest, I wasn't even planning on buying a new car, my check engine light went on my 01 Accord so I wanted to take it in to get looked at. My wife said just trade it in and get a new one since my birthday is Saturday. So we are both good now. She did love the 4 door Jeep Wrangler in the showroom of the dealership. She said she wanted one of those.

I don't have that issue. Probably the only way I can afford the car lol.

Sent from the road.

A divorce lol. Jk. But I don't agree on the equal purchase thing. If you absolutely have to buy something equal for her- don't get a car for her unless it's another Camaro or vette. Just my opinion. Other vehicles don't have that love feeling that you get with your Camaro purchase. Hmmmm... Maybe put an addition to your home with a nice hot tub or inground fiberglass pool!

In my case I promised I would drop the idea of getting another Harley (motorcycles scare her) so it was really more of a compromise. I still get bike fever every once in a while, however it's not so hard to take if I can walk out and get in my Camaro.

I drove my first car for 20 years...bought for $500 dollars in the middle of High School. So, I wanted my first new car to really count because I knew I would drive it for two decades (or longer). When I saw the Camaro Concept...I knew that was going to be my first new car.

My wife asked, "Why not a KIA, or a Mazda." My reply, "I'm 35 years old. I just got back from my third tour in Iraq. I've driven the same car for twenty years. I havent had a car payment in twenty years. I am getting a Camaro with everything I want...end of story." Well, she finally understood and she really was happy for me. No need for quid pro quo.

My 2010 Camaro SS was perfect for my first new car. I love it!

Since I bought this car she has gotten a fully loaded crew cab Silverado and identical twin baby girls. On a side note she put 10k down for me on this car as gift for proposing to her with a 3ct Emerald cut diamond engagement ring (it was her dream ring).

Cooking lessons. B@#$'s love cooking lessons.

J/k! I've never had that problem, my 'ol lady sees it as our vehicle rather than mine. Even though she knows there's things she can and can't do around/in the vehicle. She knows it's my money that pays for it, so she basically doesn't get a say in what happens to the car. She just requests a little more attention than I give the car. Which isn't a big problem since I don't have $$ to spend on it after taking care of some much needed repairs to the house.
