It is Obvious I can do what ever I want to my ZL-1, I can make as Much HP As I want.

But keeping the balance of the car so I can use it 3 ways is Key.

I daily drive it, I drag race it, and I Road Race it without changing a thing.

I am running My 75 RWHP Tune package and I feel it is right where it needs to be.

It's Fun, it does rolling burnouts, it runs Mid 11s with ease, it's fast as Hell on the road coarse, still beyond my ability, and it gets 19 mpg highway

I have a Drag only 1973 Camaro RS that I am sure most of you have seen it runs 9.2 144 with a small block and a stick shift and believe me it is a lot of fun but also a lot of work to be able to use it with loading and unloading, trailering and such.

As I get Older I like to get in and turn the key and Drive the hell out of it without all the work.

By far the Best Damn Car I have Ever Owned or Driven and I get to drive everything.

Ted.

the dual personality of the ZL1 is it's best attribute. The ability to drive to the track on drag radials, run 10's, and drive home is amazing. It is the most versatile car I have ever owned!

I 1000% agree with that Ted. That's the true beauty of what GM has done with this car.

And I love the idea of being able to quickly/easily be able to swap lowers in order to crank up the boost at the drag strip.

So have you swapped your pulleys...and what did you run?

I have a 2013 ZL1 Vert stock except for a Roto-Fab CAI and I LOVE this thing.

The amount of horsepower this has is perfect for me. It can be as docile as you want it to be, right up until you unleash the beast inside.

I don't race it, probably never will (on a track) especially since it's a convertible, but I sure do get that ultra-grin every nice summer day.

The car is still stock.
I just love the thought of being able to swap lower pulleys and go from higher boost at the strip to lower boost and more manageable IAT2's for a road course or auto-x.

I've never heard of someone who swap's pulleys back and fourth on a frequent basis to have more power one day and less power then next. It would be a lot easier to just plug in a tuner and load up an economy tune and the load the race tune for play time. Its also recommended to re-tune it anyways when you increase the boost via pulley swap so why get your hands dirty if you don't have to.

I want a cold air intake just so I can hear more supercharger whine. The car makes plenty of power at stock, it scares the heck out of me if I'm not watching out when I punch it.

I would like to get the Lingenfelter LPE 630 upgrade maybe at some point, but nothing more. If even that.

It has nothing to do with wanting more power one day versus the next.

An economy tune? Not sure what one is, but that has nothing to do with my thought process.
A retune isn't a big deal. I've been tuning LSx cars for nearly 10 years.

If I wanted to run a 10" lower at the drag strip, or hell...all the time, I could. Then if I wanted to spend a day at a road course, I could drop down to an 8.25 or 8.66 in order to keep IAT2's more under control.
Look at it the same way as a turbo car having a high boost and low boost setting, but since we don't have wastegates....

Power corrupts.

I have two supercharged BMW E92 M3s in our shop that I have recently flashed and sorting out before customers come to get them. BOTH feel ungodly slow compared to my stock ZL1. What I think some have touched on is that the ZL1 is so smooth and so easy to drive fast you lose sight of how fast you're really going nowadays!

500 miles, and still breaking it in. Maybe there will be goodies at SEMA I'll see for the ZL1 while I'm there next week...

...ok I'm off the more is better bandwagon, there's not enough road or safety within it to apprecaite the full ability of the ride unless you live in wide open expanses in states with little or no population, other than tracking it. I'm good with my CAI and my summer only factory tires......it's hairy enough to manage that combination safely in the public domain.

...and I would have though that the majority of the folks that bought ZL1's did so because they actually had the intent of tracking the car in some manner.
If not, wth did you pay all that money for technology and durability that you're not going to use?

I may or may not mod the car beyond it's stock HP rating. Not sure yet. But this will apply:

Exactly the reason I agree with all of your posts and why I will be ordering parts from you very soon, again. I drive mine (not daily) regularly, drag race it and will do road course days next year. I want more power to run consistent mid 11s and still have 100% street ability and not be to much power that it wants to spin out on the road course when you throttle down out of a turn.
Look for a PM from me soon!
