What discounts can combine with GM card earnings?

I have the original GM card that they don't issue anymore. The one that maxes out at $3,500 (after seven years, if you use it enough). I know normal rebates can be used with it. But what about the Costco program, Truecar, etc. How about the internet bonus cash pop-up offers? Any others?

If you read the fine print on any of those and the card agreement it will tell you. I've used the GM card many times and have always gotten all current incentives. I did try to use the credit unit discount one time with it and they wouldn't let me. Also don't tell the dealer about the card until the deal is done. That way the can't try to screw you. I always bring up the card after they give me the final selling price on paper

They also wouldn't let me use the supplier discount with the GM Card. Not sure if that's a dealer by dealer thing or GM rules.

I kinda thought that that may be up to the dealer in that situation. I guess the only way to know for sure is to ask the dealer you are working with. I still would only bring it up after all other incentives are on the table. These dealers that are allowing it, very well may be building it into their deal if they already know before hand that the customer is going to be using the GM card. I have literally redeemed thousands of dollars with the GM card over the years. The only thing I was never allowed to use it with was the credit union discount and the supplier discount. I deal with the same dealer anymore so I have to be careful because they know that I use it for every car or truck I purchase darn near.

Good luck, and remember that it never hurts to ask. Get what you can. That's the name of the game.

I have never been refused any discount combined with my GM card. Also never brought up the card until the price was settled. I have had my GM Card since the 1990s!
