Exhaust - resonator/cat location?
I'm planning my exhaust upgrade and am trying to figure out which Flowmaster HP-2 muffler I need to go with. The HP-2 comes in 2 sizes (18" [23" with ends] and 12" [17" with ends]).
Most people (v6 and v8) seem to be doing an axle back install after cutting off the stock mufflers. Does anyone know if there is enough room to install something in front of the axle instead? After cutting off the stock mufflers, maybe I'll just replace the stock resonators with HP-2's just past the H-pipe.
From this GM image, I'm guessing the stock resonators are the farthest thing back and the cats are located closer to the engine. Is that correct?
