yep where ur proof? or u talkin out ur ass
da was about 2000. car has a ton left in it. that was just the first pass after a 2.5 hour drive straight to the staging lanes. took it easy on the car just to get a pass in and see what its gonna do. then a damn dodge 4 door long bed diesel truck broke and wrecked and they were like 2 hours workin no getting it off the track . couldnt make no more passes. if ur cobra so bad why get a slow 5th gen? lol

I've seen some of the videos dekan has posted on ls1tech SRK section. Can't post them here, but his car N/A is fast as shit.

Slow? You just have not ran into the right person driving one stock, mildly moded, or heavily modded. Those cars are no joke and have tones of potential.

not say slow it just takes them more to get there. u can make anything fast. but for what they are and what they have they are just about on par with a zl1. ive raced alot of cobras. i do alot of racing with the kentucky street outlawz and wv street outlawz. they have diff rules more towards street cars . but i go to one of there races almost everyweekend. and alway race a few guys at least once a week if not 2 nights a week. trust me ive raced a few. my brother in law owns 2 fairly quick ones but they are not a 5.0 or a ls car .

ur typical 450 rwhp cobra runs 12's at least in my part of the world it does. come visit kyhorsepower.com. just go thur and look at some of the videos of cobras getting yanked. by 380 rwhp vettes and cobras making 500's . there not even close. a bunch of camaro yanking them aswell. ya every now and then they are a good running cobra but its usally a big hp car.

done talkin about it tho. ive ran it too many times to know. have i been beat by a cobra of coarse. but mod for mod those cars will never compair i dont think.

one of my friend that use to own a badass cobra . just look thur some of his videos. hes made it his mission to race 5.0 and slowbras in the last few months..
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...T2FAbznAy8ZWzg

his old vette was 380 rwhp auto i think . his vette he has now had for a month or so. put down 420 on one dyno and 433 on another. racing a bunch of 500+ 600+ cobras. u tell me.
all from rolls too. a roll show just pure power pretty much.

My 04 had a pulley, tune, and CAI and put down 455hp / 454 tq on a dynojet. Very strong pulling car. Also to chime in on the stock Cobra vs the 5.0, I found my Cobra to be faster stock vs stock.

Every Cobra I've pulled up to has said they have "540rwhp", like that is their magical number or something... I have only taken one getting on the freeway and i let off at 75mph and he was about a half a car behind me... i'm at 486rwhp... so I take it they are either 'stretching' their numbers, or I happen to get lucky... i ran 8.1xx in the 1/8th mile in 98 degree weather my first time ever at a track just the other week (got kicked off cuz i had no helmet and ran faster than 8.59, so that ended my track night)

I think they're over hyped and lying about their HP most of the time... Don't get me wrong, I like the Cobra's for some reason, but out of the 15 or so that i've come across, "540 hp to the wheels" is what they say..

A guy I go to shows with has a bad a$$ cobra, I have not raced him but I am pretty sure he would take me down. He has a ported blower, boltons, gears ect... but the cobras I have raced myself I have taken down, most of the time by a car or two. They are very hyped up, I love the look on there face when a fat a$$ 5th gen put a woop on em!

A lot of them are, especially those Cobra's that are driven by bad drivers.

I don't agree that they are all THAT hyped up considering I trapped within 3 MPH of your time in your signature in a bone stock Cobra and later trapped 117 missing 4th and shutting down at the 1,000ft mark with a pulley/intake/tune/exhaust a DR.

I'd say that is pretty good for a 462 RWHP that weighs 3800+ LBS with a 200LB driver.

Anecdotal "evidence" at best. Many Cobra owner such as myself can claim to have beaten every 5th gen that's been willing to run. Albeit in my area there are only basic bolt-on cars for the most part.

I'm fully willing to admit that my car, being only a basic bolt-on car itself, would be highly outclassed by much more heavily modified cars. Case in point, a friend of mine has a fully built TT-LS2 GTO, putting down over 660hp on a conservative tune; and another aquantence with am '08 GT500 Super Snake. Either of which would walk me like I was in reverse.

However, the 5th gen crowd hasn't present too much here yet. There are plenty of videos to support the claim that the 5th gen is faster than a Terminator, stock for stock and mod for mod...however there are just as many to support the opposing view point. Thus is the way of the internet.

Comparing cars is fun, especially the old Ford v. Chevy rivalry. But it should stay fun, don't let "loyalty" and "prejudice" blind us from facts.

Now; keep it fast, keep it safe, and let's all have fun.

Read my second post, I roll to shows with a bad a$$ cobra and its actually the one mustang I really like! Yes I have beaten every one of them that I have raced, but my only point is that they dont all run 10s, its just as bad as the bolton 10 sec 5.0s that you never see in person. So much hype that the first time I ran into one I thought I was gonna get KILLED! To mine and the cobra owners suprize I won 3 out of 3 runs with him, all I had at the time was long tubes and flowmasters. He was full exhuast, intake and nitto 555s. My car took 2 cars and he pulled one car back in second gear, then we would just stay that way till the top of my 3rd gear.
