people are funny.

350z's dont drag race well stock they are not geared for it with the torque they have. high 13 low 14 sec car at best.

even though the nannies are a joke on a Zl1 and a novice driver could easily be beaten by say perfecly driven 5.0, boss 302 or C6 vette something like that a 350z would be like a one legged man in an ass kicking conest even just usning the crappy launch control on this car.

My friend drives an 04 350z with full bolt ons

we race all the time and it's usually about dead even every time, with me pulling on him slightly if we're not even.

oh and I drive a 2010 2LT with an air intake and exhaust and thats it.

No way in hell an 03 350z could come close to a zl1.

I couldn't see even a NISMO touching a SS. A kid at my school thinks his 05 Cavalier will beat my SS

An '09 350z nismo would definitely give an SS a hard time. I might even put my money on the nismo

That year Z was a driver's race against the 03-04 WRX which on it's best day might run a 14.1-14.2 bone stock. It won't touch an SS which is a high 12 second car stock, how could it even think of touching a ZL1?

Better not have this guy waste his time. Maybe something more worthy, like an Agera or Veyron?

The other thing about Zs (and the same applies to the G35s) - they're so highly tuned out of the box that you can't get appreciable gains from just bolt-ons. You've got to go forced induction, or upgrade/swap the powertrain to get anything worthwhile.

I've got a family member with one fully bolted, think's he's superman. Had a co-worker that thought his short ram intake and catback exhaust gave him 50 WHP on his. I let him run my EVO IX from a roll 5 times (so I didn't have to hear BS later about how I won because of my AWD launches) and he was never once close. The EVO just walked and walked.

There's no way in hell a 350z that isn't built with thousands invested under the hood will get a ZL1 or SS.

If you're talking about a Nissan SE-R, they make a Sentra and an Altima version of that car. The Sentra has a 2.5 4 cylinder rated at 185hp (200hp in the newest version) the Altima has a variation of the VQ35 that is used in the 350Z. The Almita is rated at 265. The 350Z, if it is an 07 and never, has the VQ35HR which is 80% different from that engine and puts out 300+ hp. They aren't slow by any means, they're just not on the same playing field as an SS.

Anyone with even a tiny bit of performance car knowledge would just laugh at his ridiculous statement.

He's probably doing these "so called races" zig zagging through rush hour traffic. The other cars (SS, ZL1, GT500s) don't even know he's racing.

But what I always do is start asking basic questions. That always catches the B.S.ers pretty fast.

What does your car run in 60', 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile?
What does your car trap in the 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile?
What numbers does you car make on the dyno?
Would you like to meet up at the track next Saturday and race for fun? I'd like to see your car run.

I had some guy with a stock Dodge Charger R/T give me the same B.S. I very nicely tried to get him to meet me at our local 1/8 mile track for a race and he quickly ran away with his tail between his legs.
It's the put up or shut up method.
