heres my problem..

my buddy has a 2013 Subaru STI with stage 2 mods (intake, down pipe, exhaust, and a cobb can tune) and he wants to race me. heres the problem i just installed my mods (what i have is in my sig) and i DID NOT get it tuned yet. is it safe to race him and will he be able to beat me since im not tuned?

You really should tune after installing LTH to maximize your gains and prevent sensor failures. A tune will also really wake up your l99. His 300hp to your 360-370 (after tune) should be interesting.

If the cold air intake doesn't require a tune then I think you should be fine. The ECM can correct AFR by +/- 25%. You will probably throw a CEL though and I wouldn't recommend beating on it a lot until you get a tune. It depends on the race. If it's a 1/4 mile it might be close, but I know the cobb tuned cars aren't nearly as fast as the dyno tuned cars. If it's a roll race you will dust him.

I had LTH, cat delete, resonator delete to flowmasters w/ AEM CAI and drove about 500 miles with no tune... It dyno'd at 367rwhp with those.. then I got it supercharged (the 500 mile trip)... the tune on LTH is completely controversial on here it seems, but I had 0 issues with out the tune, as do several others.

In all, I believe you should be fine.
