Randy only gets a day or so in these cars. You will never see the lap times touted by manufacturers from independent drivers that see very limited seat time. Nothing improves performance like seat time. I'll guess a 1'38" flat.

One thing those 3 cars have in common is their lack of carbon Ceramic brakes.
I think late breaking at laguna does create a bigger time gap...have you seen the braking chart from Milford?

Randy knows Laguna Seca like nobody else does. He could probably drive it blind-folded. I'm going with 1:36.19.

The Boss did a 1:39 + and this car proved to be 3 sec. faster on a test track before so 1:36 and even 1:35+ is possible.

I'm bettin' on a 135:8. Better than the lap time, I'm more interested in Randy Pobst's comments. I'm sure he's going to be very impressed as he was with the 1LE.

I'm really surprised.

Still suprising the Z51 didn't do any better. It's not a bad time, however I thought the electronic differential would have been perfect for Laguna Seca. I hope they run it there again.

It will be slower than the GTR...same weight, less power. No manual trans for the GTR so no slow shifts. And the awd makes the tire advantage of the Z28 moot. And a heavier car around tighter turns will not be faster than a lighter and more powerful car like the 458. so im in for 1:37's around the 911 Turbo from '09 that ran a 1:37.8

I'm changing my guess to 1:37.9, those super sticky Trofeo Rs are really going to grip.

wrong....in part. The 1LE was faster @ VIR through a curvy section than the 458. So many variables, we will only know if/when he runs Laguna Seca.

I wouldn't count on it being slower just because it's heavier. This thing generates something like 400 lbs of downforce so combine that with those massive sticky tires, the Formula 1 suspension technology and a fabulous n/a V8 with lots of torque and a wide power band....it's going to surprise you.

Yes they've fairly recently run the Lightning Laps (maybe two months ago). Not sure whey they haven't published the story yet, absolutely can't wait to see the results.

Oh, and I'm changing my guess for lap time to 1:36.6, which is solidly faster than Randy's C7 Corvette lap of 1:38.28! Very impressed with Z/28, it defies physics.
