Installing Vette Fuel Rail Covers

I love how the Corvette fuel rail covers look compared to the Camaro's LS-3 engine cover.

I took my Camaro's cover off and it looks like it might have more junk in the way compared to the Corvette's LS-3. On the passenger side, the heater hoses run along the side of the intake manifold and there's possible another line or two I don't remember seeing on the Corvette.

Does anyone know if the Corvette FRC's would be a bolt-on?

Also, is the molded plastic piece that looks like the intake, but is actually a cover, the same as the Corvette or should it be removed? Is the manifold in this pic the actual manifold or is it a cover like the Camaro?

Yes it works.......With a little work.

We fabricated a new fuel line and changed the routing of the coolant lines

Just get rid of the cover. Powder coat the intake a nice color. Put braided hose covers on. Some high temp silicon hoses etc etc.

Kinda hard to powder coat a composite intake manifold. You would have to paint it. I had the intake painted/airbrushed on my 98 Z28, and it looked nice.

I hope I don't have to look under the hood enough to worry about what it looks like.
But, If thats your cup of tea I thinks it's a neat Idear. Only thing is I'm not sure I would want my cover to say corvette when I'm driving a camaro.

finished installing some gm carbonfiber ls3 corvette fuel rail covers today, if anyone is cosidering doing this its kind of a pain in the ass, but not too bad. as stated it requires modification to a flexible fuel line, reroute of the heater hoses
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49050
by the way don't mistake the large quick connecs near the thermostat housing for check valves, there is no real need to reuse them.
you'll laso need to remove the mounts at the rear of the intake for the factory engine cover (10mm bolt and a clip to the fuel rail) and a reroute for the evap line next to the fuel line.
also when you're looking for the coil covers, dont forget the 4 corvette support studs that thread into the valve covers (camaro only comes with 1 and it is shorter than the vette ones) happy butchering
oh, will post pics when i get my camera back from my wife

Would love to see how you routed the stainless fuel line. Need to do the same thing with mine.

Nice. I just got some z06 covers for free. I'm going to try and see what I can do. Do you have any pics of the under side where the clips hook up?Thanks
