Don't you lose power by switching over to straight pipes?

I heard that the engine works better and makes more power when it has the backpressure of the mufflers. Can somebody confirm this?

I can't guarantee anything, but here's a link to a dyno a fellow member did with straight pipes...shows a significant gain.

Thanks again to you all. I'm working on the In-car video and should have it up tonight.

Yeah baby! That was an awesome comparison...wish you had added the video comparison from inside the cabin before and after but it really was well done!

I can tell you first hand on mine...drove from San Antonio to Del Rio then up to Columbus KS in two days and then from KS back to San Antonio in one day (11 hours in the car!) and not once did I even notice the sound at cruising speeds...not once!

It has been a super mod for me!! Love the sound!!

Awesome stuff. Best comparison out there by a mile! I definately am going this route.

Thanks a ton!!

With regards to AFM and this mod... doesn't sound like it's a good idea for the L99:

I am the member who posted dyno numbers. My car now base lines at 438.6 hp after this simple mod I did last month. It is by far the best and cheapest mod that can be done. Thanks for the awesome video too.

Thank you very much for getting you're car on the dyno, I GREATLY appreciate it.

I just filmed from the inside of the car, so now the editing begins. If you stay up late, I'll have it out eventually. If you're hitting the hay in the next couple hours, check back tomorrow!

The sound is much better to me and is well worth the $150, its a nice alternative to more expensive cat back exhaust. Well done.

I think the "crackle," is specific to stangs... ours does more like a pop lol

Sounds very EuroSport (or maybe even "ricey" as you guys love to say). I like my car to growl not burble and on deceleration my car sounds like a plane landing. I'm hoping to get the same sound and more on my 5th gen.

Great vid, though.
