Launch Control?

What is this launch control and how do I use it? I've read that if you press your traction button twice, activating competitive mode, launch control will activate and flooring it with the clutch in will bring you to apx. 4200 RPM. I've found on mine that it limits at 5000 when stopped and on the clutch regardless of all nannies on, competitive mode, or all nannies off.

Never used it (and never will) but I believe you hold the traction button down for several seconds until competition mode is displayed on your center display. Car should be totally still when you do this. Press in clutch all the way, press gas pedal all the way to the floor and your rpm's should raise and stop to 4000. Release clutch (quickly, as in dump) and car should launch.

Hopefully you wont break your axles when you do this. A lot of people have and you can launch the car a lot better on your own once you get some experience with it.

Yea...that doesn't work as described on mine.

And as for launching, I have like no experience launching competitively.

Press the T/C button twice. enables comp mode. With the wheel straight and car stopped. push the clutch to the floor and then floor the gas. The RPM will raise to 5k and the drop to about 4200. Then let the clutch out.

My advice is to find a local raceway and practice launches (manually). You will eventually get way better results and less wear and damage to you car. Most tracks have Test and Tune night where you can go and have fun without feeling the intimidation of not being a "professional"..

First rule is always to enjoy your car..

Wouldve been great if GM had programed it to set RPM around 2500-3000 or at least make it adjustable instead. Then it would actually be useful in a competitive situation. The way it is setup now can be pretty risky. Could snap axles and put moving parts at risk from wheel hop and hard launches.

Does anyone know if there's a way to completely turn all the traction bs off? I've tried taking off pretty hard(not dumping clutch) and thought the tires would go up in smoke but they didn't. Spun a little but it just feels held back to me

Just hold the button down for 10 sec and it will all turn off.

Launch control actually helps out quite a bit if you are on the stock tires. But as mentioned with a lot of practice you can do better on your own.

I've tried but mine apparently did not come equipped with launch control.

Verts and automatics don't have launch control. Its in the owners manual.

Just tap the button once and a little red light will show up I think in the speedometer face. It leaves the other nannies on and TC off. Not a bad thing going over 110 mph. With TC off you can experience the wonderful Goodyear wheelhop show.

False....my 11 vert has launch control. Do as instructed above but the rpm will go to 6000 and drop to 4000....drop the clutch and go. All I did was lay a strip of rubber so it doesn't really do what is suppose to do.
