Finally got a 5th Gen! Check out my black widow

It's a bone stock SS but I'm still proud of it. I took it out the first day and tried to do some burnouts and honestly it seems kind of underpowered. I thought the 400HP/automatic would feel insane but it really needs some help off the line. I know you guys will have some suggestions so I am all ears. I'd like to start with bolt-ons and something that kicks me in the seat of the pants. Anyways, I'm excited to finally have my dream car.

Congrats on the ride! best thing to do is Get yourself a tune and fix the L99. Its so bogged down from nannies and a restrictive tune from factory it just isn't impressive at all, like you said underpowered. Get a tune it'll turn into something new. Warranty goes out the window however...

Cold Air Intake from us will eliminate a lot of the restriction on the intake side and give you a nice bump in overall power as well as throttle response. Its a good starting mod that gives you multiple benefits, and once you sets a good platform for additional mods down the road. The nice thing is it requires no tuning and does not mess with your warranty, if that's important to you

Let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help!

Thanks man, you nailed it with "bogged down." I love the body style and know this car can be built up to be badass but I really was wondering if something was wrong with it. Anyways, where do I get a tune? Is this like a chip? I haven't been in the car scene for a long time but I do remember chips being a thing back in the day.

Ignore chips/programmers, they'll void your warranty too as far as I know and if your going to void a warranty might as well go all out. You can get a tune at any speedshop, various and highly regarded shops throughout the country, Im not sure where you are so I dunno where to direct you, go start a thread or search in your regional section of the forum. Also, might as well grab some LT's and such before you tune, Save some cash vs getting the tune then modding more and having to retune.

Good Choice! Gotta love some Doritos too! I found some BBQ rib flavor chips in a vending machine at a prison once.... those things were amazing.

Depending on where you bought it,it probably has a tank full of 87 oct. Burn all that out and keep it filled with premium.you can try the fuse pull too.It doesn't cost anything. And congrats...luv the color...luv the car

Thanks for the suggestions and the congrats!

1.It probably does have bad gas in it. I never thought of good gas as being a cheap mod but I will start there.

2.I did have traction control off. I had a little bit better of a burnout (later/off camera) but nothing like just some all out nastiness that 400HP should pull.

3. What's this fuse pull thing?

4. Do the Doritos go in the gas tank or glovebox?

Go to the V8 exhaust bolt on section... I think that's where the fuse pull sticky is. Should find it at the top of the page. Also, the Doritos, they either go directly into YOUR gas tank, or your cars glovebox to go in your gas tank when your closer to empty!

Honestly, I would suggest you throw one of our tunes on it. It will install in a few minutes, can easily be turned 100% back to stock, and it will easily give you that extra TQ that your looking for (amazing HP & TQ increases throught the RPM range). We haven't officially released it yet because of the insane volume the C7 has created for us, but PM me and I can work out a special "pre-sale" deal with you. I have them 100% ready to ship,

Turned 100% back to stock, without leaving traces for the dealer to find?

This is a great place to start. CAI's intake looks great, installs easily, and definitely improves throttle response considerably. I recommend the Apex Air Scoop as well. Make the CAI even better.

I called Pfadt Racing and spoke with Eric who was actually the guy who posted above. I ended up going with their tune; I didn't really think I was going to buy anything this soon but it sounds pretty badass. I will probably add a cold air intake down the road so thanks for offering that, CAI. I expect to get this tune in the mail by Friday so I will report back then.
