The turbo discussion ended quickly. Kevin from AGP said that there would be major boost lag off the line not to mention you need to modify the trans a lot to make it fit and it will not fit a turbo 400.

The upgrades weren't all that bad. Plus at the time I didn't realize how ridiculous the price I was being charged was. It wasn't until I got prices from Don that I realized the I/We were getting bled. With the money sunk into this car I could prob buy a house in most states. First time doing anything like this so I didn't really know any better. I do now. I wanted to stay with the 376 bc I felt it was better suited for the 2300. No 2300, no 376.

U can fix boost lag with converter choice and proper turbo choice. Just like the buick...build a up a few pounds on the line, come off a trans brake and let it eat! 2 problems...their kit not clearing other trannies like u said and lack of a transbrake for a 6L80.

Yup. No 6l80 trans brakes and it doesn't work with the 400. Matt tried and it just wouldn't work. The YSI will be just as good.

Well, with the 376, you're #1 on the #6 list (power adder, stock displacement).

Now you're moving up to the #7, big boy (and girl) list, where your 9.80 puts you at #9 and you'll be chasing Darth Emma.

And that leaves me free to shoot for your 9.80 with my new DSS 9". Muahahahahaha.

(Until my motor goes and I have to go forged/stroked as well. )

Yes.. Except when we hit the 1/4 mile with Franklin's stock bottom end ride... 6.06 in the 1/8 already, should be good for 9.6 passes and that is on his 93 octane tune. We'll be putting some race gas in that beast

It could be made to work just one of the wastegates needs to be moved if you run a transbrake on a 400. As for lag, no more than any other car. 2 step or a brake and you can have boost at the line waiting to release the button. It would be one modified header/adapter to get it to work on a th400.

I'm just repeating what I was told. Kevin said it's very slow off the line but there kits make it up on the big end. Modification is needed to fit a 6l. Matt also scrapped the kit because it wasn't going to work with a 400. YSI is simpler and will be great for what I want to do.

Great kit the AGP is don't get me wrong. Unfortunately with my particular TH400 with the deep pan and transbrake it would have required some fabrication. We wanted a bolt-on solution for the TH400 and honestly its not worth AGP releasing a kit for the 1% of Camaros that have gone as far as putting in a TH400 w/ all the fixin's.

Modification to fit a 6L? Plenty of 6Ls out there with them. On the big turbos you need to spend 5 minutes clearance the tabs. A kid could do it in a few minutes, nothing major.

Agreed, Ysi is great, and will do fine. Just wanted to make sure people don't get the impression the AGP kit doesn't fit on the 6L80 or 6L90 because it does.

You're right. I checked the email from Kevin. Kit will not work with the 4l80. I remembered the 80 part. Lol. And on the upgrades turbos you do have to do minor fab work like you said. My bad.

We are not going turbo. I'm a big fan of turbo's and run an 88mm on my personal car. It just won't fit our goal/ needs with this build.

Sorry if you came away with some wrong impressions from those emails. The turbos will come on faster than a YSI. The lag off the line thing was just mentioned because you were coming from a PD blower and I wanted you to understand launching a turbo car under boost takes some different steps. But if done correctly you can launch off the line already spooled up with a 6Lxx trans off the foot brake. And at that time you had told me stock cubes. Now, with a 10.7:1 big motor it's a totally different story. I still need that TVS if you want to change your mind

The TH400 fitment I don't think will be a big deal at all. It's just going to be moving the waste gate locations. We'll get a mock up trans and get that figured out.

AGP...exactly.
I'm a YSI fan too though. The YSI won't do "just fine"...its gonna rip! Lag on a YSI...LMAO. Whatever...it is a second tops before you are into boost...and my guess is a converter change is coming so that the combo is into boost fast. I think slowhawk has a killer coming.

Looking forward to meeting you and have you do some work on my car.
