Sharp looking car. I like the chrome finish rims on the R/T better than the ones on the SRT8. Curious to see what the actual 0-60/quarter mile times will be with the pistol grip.

Thanks for the pics.!

Not a bad looking car at all. It's just my opinion, but personally, I think the aluminum gas cap distracts from the car. I never understood why people think highlighting where the fuel filler door is with an aluminum door looks good.

I always here the theme song to Fat Albert in my head when I see pics of that car. Until I see pics of the interior, then I fall asleep.

well, i really believe i agree with Moose on this. that is a really nice looking car, for a dodge. the gas cap does kinda make the car look a little tacky tho. the concept had no gas car, and it looked better. i think this will give the camaro a run for its money, but it wont win

the inside doesn't go wit the outside...and is it just me or is the inside basically the same thing as the charger

and what i mean by the inside doesn't go with the outside is that the outside is a older/newer lookin retro vehicle which is a muscle car and the inside is no different than a charger and it looks like a family sedan it doesn't say muscle...i was expecting a little more out of dodge..

but chevy created a whole new interior and they are still tweaking it and it has that retro/new muscle feel....

Yes the R/T (5.7 hemi) will get the 6 speed option along with the 6.1 SRT8.

anyone else care to doubt what I said about the Challenger now? while I do believe the Camaro will be faster, dont count the SRT8/TR6060 model out as "too heavy"... one wrong shift and you'll be looking at tail lights.

I love this car and think Dodge did an incredible job on the exterior... the interior could definitely be better... but I have Kowalski fever, here, and I can completely see myself in a Stone White R/T model

about 10 days ago, I posted that the Challenger was going to be available with the six speed manual... everyone looked at the Dodge website and called me a liar and said it was "going to be a while before that was available"... and now here we are 10 days later and the Dodge webpage is updated with the 2009 options, but not pricing (you still can't build a 2009 Challenger, but you can look at colors and some options), and everything I've said has been proved right.

I love being right because it so rarely happens since I've gotten married... lol

hey, if you're going to rush a car to market, you gotta cut corners somewhere... the interior of the original Viper RT10 was kinda... odd... too when it came out... but things got better with time... I'm hoping the Challenger will age gracefully and get some interior updates to make it more impressive on the inside.

Well, I hope so too for the Challengers sake.

Now, if they were to do like GM and not rush a car to market.....makes me that much more happy GM is taking their time....so it doesn't turn out looking like the interior came out of another car.

As much as I like to pick on dodge, that Challenger is a really nice looking car, it's just to bad they didn't put more effort into the insides. But I gotta say, I kind of like the blue one, then the red.

Although the Challenger's body style doesn't do much for me, I do really like that blue color. I'm also glad they've brought back the concept's pistol grip shifter.

Shame about the lackluster interior.

Guess we should just be happy that the muscle cars are back and, if anything, Dodge is giving us one more car to leave in the dust.

Does anyone else notice the Challenger just doesnt look right in profile? It looks like they wanted to make a 4 door Challenger then changed their mind at the last second. lol When I first saw the concept I loved it but the production version is a let down. The styling will be good for one thing though, making my 5th gen look even better!

It did, its the same as the 300c interior. Its just a different body on a 300c chassis with the same interior, engines, trannys, etc. Thats how they got it out as fast as they did.

Oh I know.  Think there was misunderstanding.  I know they rushed the Challenger.  I'm saying what if they didn't rush the Chanllenger and how great the interior would have been if they could have sat down and figured out something new and innovative.  Too bad they took it right out of another car.  And I was saying, that's why I'm happy GM is taking their time and not doing another cookie cutter deal like Chrysler and the Challenger.

They did a very nice job on the way the back window sits in the body, but of course we all know that is why the car looks so retro, because they virtually duplicated something from the 60's cars.

I just looked at the dodge magnum station wagon. on the front suspension, I saw an upper control arm with two mounting points, along with a typical mcpherson strut. I assume challenger has actual upper and lower control arms (something camaro does not have). If I was GM I would be a little MORE worried about this Challenger. It does have it's share of flaws (the mirrors, semi boring back bumper, but this car looks sweet. I would drive a V6 version of this car any day of the week. That car is hot. I cannot even imagine a V6 commuter car that looks that hot.

If there is one styling element that I would have liked to see on the Challenger that isn't there is real bumpers. They wouldn't work well from a styling stand point on most cars today, but since it is a slightly modified 1970 Challenger body, it almost looks naked without them.

and too bad that the doors go all the way down to the side skirts vs the much sleekier appearence of the concept there IMHO
