Front and Rear Bow Ties

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am looking for replacement front and rear bow tie emblems. I have searched online and haven't been able to find them. I want to get a set to paint.

Thank you

Try GMpartsdirect.com, the front bowtie part#92194260. You can search the forum for the rear bowtie part number or call/email GMpartsdirect, they will tell you. Also, make sure they have them in, a lot of the exterior trim parts have been on backorder, unless you don't mind the wait!!!

Just asking, why don't you paint the ones on your car now?

Thanks PonyMan for the part number. I want to keep the original ones, just in case I decide to go back or I screw up the paint job.

you will not be able to reuse the rear bowtie. it goes on w/ 3M automotive tape. so once you remove it, the tape's done for.

your dealership's parts dept can order them, should run about $35 for the front, $15 for the rear... they are cheaper on gmpartsdirect.com, but their shipping fees then raise the cost higher than if you just get the parts thru your dealership.

Thanks guys, but why are there holes under the rear bow tie then, if it's stuck on by 3M tape?

Used for support and proper alignment, I believe.

I like those Defenderworx, but I would have to powder coat them for the color I like. Plus I can only imagine how expensive those would be. I tried ebay a couple of days ago and they only listed bow ties for other vehicles. I wonder if the tahoe bow ties will fit the camaro, as they have them listed on ebay?

Is there any chance of pulling or damaging the paint work when you remove an emblem with 3M tape? Are there tricks to removing? Hair dryer and fishing line is what I have read so far...

thanks
J

Faninc, I used the methods you listed above to remove the GM badge on the lower fender, hair dryer, fishing line, a little goo-gone washed off right away after the left over adhesive was gone. Then I went over with a clay bar and wax. Can't tell they were ever there.

Bowties are available and we have the GM Official Licensing. Black or chrome are your choices, or if you want to order it raw and have it painted your own color, that is possible as well. Can be seen and purchased at http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Addicted-Auto-Accessories . Let us know how else we can help!
