LOL. In the "good old days" you bought a car off the lot at a dealer, then hung out with your friends. Here we ordered, and had/still have to wait to get our cars. We "hang out" on this forum and since many of us still can't drive around in our new Camaro yet, we occupy our time comparing, talking, photoshopping, etc.

New Camaro, new times, new way of "hanging out" with people hehehe.

As you can plainly see, the Camaro tire is still huge. That was the only point I was trying to make. A 19" wheel in a 26" tire has about the same sidewall as a 22" in a 29" tire. About 3.5" of sidewall height for each combo.

You're really into that "anal" thing hehehe. Conspiracy? (studies photo carefully for evidence of aliens, black helicopters reflected in windows and/or chrome, Fox Muldaur hiding in the shadows). Blast.... looks like you MIGHT and I say MIGHT be clean on this one.

Well now I understand what you were saying; I misunderstood your point. It wasn't clear before you were talking about sidewall ratio. Yes that's absolutely true, no question about ratios of tire sidewall size. If you stuck that 4th gen wheel in a 5th gen it would look stupid because the 5th gen is designed for the bigger wheel. If you tried to stick the 5th gen wheel in a 4th gen it wouldn't fit because it wasn't designed to take that size wheel. What "looks right" depends largely on the car and wheel well design.

The stock 20" rim/tire combo looks good on the 5th Gen Camaro because it was designed for that size. It's purely a visual balance thing. Going 22 and up does not look good to me but not just because the tire sidewall ratio to rim size drops. While I'm not a big fan of the rubber band around a huge rim look anyways, beyond that the ratio of the visual size of the rim in the wheel well (regardless of tire) starts to look too big because it was designed for a 20. The less tire visible, the more it starts to look like a wagon wheel.

I don't know, maybe people think tires are ugly or something; I don't. I actually think tires can look pretty cool, especially if they have a good looking tread pattern.

At any rate, to each his own. Get what you like; if you like 24's stuffed in there then it's your car and your money... that's what freedom of choice is about. If we all looked the same it would be pretty boring. Thanks for taking the time to make and post the pics btw. If you're going to do those other rim sizes you were talking about, post those pics too; it's always good to see different sizes and choices.
