Staying tuned! The 3.91 upgrade being a kit that has corporate support sounds a lot better to me than random dealer estimates I have gotten. Once released if you have a list of preferred dealers, please attach.

Thanks!

Looking at the installation it looks like 4 hours to R&R the diff, 1.5 hr to change the gears in the diff + the gear kit parts + computer change (.5 hr).

6 hrs @ $100/hr = $600 + parts ($260) = $860. ???

I was quoted 8 hours to do the work @$109 / hr + fluids + few hundred in parts.

All in $1200. No computer change, since they don't have it available for the V6.

This is much closer to what someone should expect..

Also the 'upgrade' kit has been available for many many months now... not sure what you guys think you're waiting for. I bought my gears for $223 shipped and bought the other tools I needed from jegs or summit. took me some time to get it all right since it was my first time messing with that kind of stuff. otherwise a great weekend DIY for the backyard mechanic.

This is probably about the worst thread to post that question.

Post in the classifieds.

Don't get me wrong, i'm glad this is happening but why has it taken gm 4 years to come out with factory performance parts? The car has been out for 4 years and only has 2 model years left for this generation. It just seems odd to me.
