Wheel hop

Now that its been getting colder around the 50's in Ca, I have been experiencing really bad wheel hop in first and sometimes second gear. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it? My rear tires are pretty worn, not sure if that's a factor. I hear when people switched to the PSS from the F1 the wheel hop went away. What do you guys think?

Suspension mods are your answer; Trailing arms with outer Knuckle bushings, Subframe bushings and upper control arm bushings. The 1LE's already have good toe links on them, so you're good there.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions. I'll be happy to help get you setup.

Best regards,

Tyler

Trailing arms and outer bushings need to be your first mod. I had terrible wheel hop and it took me camming and supercharging at 630rwhp to finally get some and I feel like an idiot for not doing it sooner...night and day difference...virtually no wheel hop now, its either I sit down and launch, or I just spin. I went with BMR.

Good Luck.

OR... let off the gas a little. Much cheaper. In fact, you'll actually make money through what you save on gas.

Just rear sub-frame bushing inserts took out most of my wheel hop.

I am stock power and don't have any plans to change that for a while.

Could you reference part numbers please. Gonna be dropping the hammer on some stuff soon. Lastly with those items which springs would complement them the best 1" hotchkis or BMR? You guys having any black friday deals? Thanks in advance!

I was getting bad wheel hop, and went with bmr cradle bushings, upper control arm bushings, trailing arms and toe rods, but im a 2ss dusk over 700 rwhp these mods eliminated wheel hop for me, the biggest difference to me were the cradle bushings.

There are many options for all of these parts. If you just do a quick search for "Camaro trailing arms", "Camaro Toe links", "Camaro Subframe or Camaro Cradle" and "Camaro upper control arm bushings" on our site, you'll get a lot of hits.

Both the BMR and Hotchkis springs are great; you can't go wrong.

Everything BMR is $15% off until Monday 12/1, and there are deals on other manufactures as well. Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

Tyler

went with Keith's recommendations no wheel hop with bushings, trailing arms toe rods, only problem is traction is worse, hence the advice on ordering the rear sway bar hope it finally shows up next week. then onto the lower control arms and coilovers.

Did all of these + lcrs , bmr 1" springs, bushings, sway bars, 1le upgrades, and struts/shocks. Huge difference. Tyler and bmr worked great for me.

So your wheel hop is gone but traction is worse?

Are you running summer tires? That will cause traction issues when weather is cold...

Cold weather will definitely hinder traction, but without those mods, you'd just be hopping rather than spinning.

Best regards,

Tyler
