Traction control and Stabilitrak automatically re-enabled?

I was driving today with tc and stabilitrak off and a message came up on the dic as well as a low traction light? Didn't get to read the message, but as it went away traction control and stabilitrak re-enabled themselves.

Anyone know what this was al about?

I was compression braking in 4th, downshifted to 3rd and continued compression braking and the message popped up. Rpms were around 4k after downshift. I'm guessing there was a slight mismatch in wheel speed at that point.

Didn't know it would re-enable tc automatically though?

Ahhhh.... I was wondering if there was a difference between those!

I did two taps, and the competitive mode message of course came up.

So why did it exit competitive mode?

In comp mode, you don't exit out of t/c or stabilitrak completely....Just the parameters are changed so they don't activate as frequently....If you got a message of any kind, it was probably that stabiltrak or t/c were being used....Only way to exit out of comp mode is to re-start the car, or hit the button once....

I can guarantee you that part in bold isn't correct.

I had both hands on the wheels and was compression braking down an exit ramp in 3rd when the dic lit up with a message and the low traction. By the time I looked the message was gone and the low traction light, traction control disabled light and stabilitrak disabled lights were all off.

I think if someone digs they will find that a low traction condition under deceleration will probably revert the car back to full traction and stabilitrak control.

I will try to repeat it so I can read the message.

I have seen random stabilitrak off messages when the brake fluid is low.

It WAS off, but it turned back on. i.e. the light was ON but turned OFF automatically.

I'm going to do a more detailed look in the owners manual, but I didn't find an answer for this first pass.

It doesn't say it, but EDC (engine drag control) may take you out of competitive mode if it engages... I haven't replicated this yet.

Same here cause it does not like the line lock being used.

Out of curiosity, did you try using your line lock in competitive mode?

Wondering how it would respond to that.

Yup it's turns everything back on after burn out. DIC lights up like a Christmas tree. Only thing about pulling the fuses is give you an warning bell when you start it, but it goes away.
