I'd vote for that.
Most people don't want to have to travel by car more than 8 to 12 hours away. A centralized location gives the best opportunity for the highest attendance.

It should rotate around the country, gives everyone a chance to attend at least once every few years.
It was at Indy 2 years in a row and in Georgia the 1st year, that's hardly blowing off the east people.

The person said making Vegas a permanent location for the Fest. That is what I was commenting on.

Yeah, it is in a really good spot geographically. It is about 3.5 hours south of Indy so it is almost smack dead in the center of the eastern US.

It's been in the east the last two years, did you go?

We went and were from the west.

Good for you, but not a majority of people from the west or east would want to travel several thousand miles to attend. I am thinking if the majority not a few fortunate people that have the time and money to travel across the country every year.
No, I have family obligations that take my time right now. I am lucky if we get to take one trip a year for a couple days. The only trip we have taken in 3 years was June of 2012 to drive up to Michigan and back to pick up our car.

Sounds like I'm flying to that one too. Hoping for something between California and Phoenix so I can get Pumpkin on the road again. Will be looking at flights to Texas early in the New Year. Could be drag racing a Sonic.

The last I heard Indy is in the Mid West, not East.
Beech Bend, Also in the Mid West is a great idea imo.

Indy really isn't on the east coast. So you can't say we've had it two years in a two.

So, for everyone who is "voting" for Vegas, can Camaro5 just send the bill for track rental to y'all? Considering how much they charge, I would be willing to bet you'd change your mind once you saw the bill.

Like I said earlier Vegas is under new management. Another try might be in order now that C5 is way more established.

Indiana is in the Eastern time zone, not mid west (Central time zone).

FWIW, Arizona is on Mountain Standard time year round, no DST.

Um.. last I checked, Indy is 1800 miles WEST of the east coast. It is more central than east..

Took me 4 days travel for a 2 day event towing the trailer. Just the Fuel Cost for the hauler was north of $3K.

When your in a hole stop digging.... When I lived in Ohio (East of Indiana),
many people said they lived in the Mid West. When I drove from Ct to Indy
it was about 800 miles to the WEST.
Also, parts of Indiana are central time.
