Smile shift knob - removed and redone

Ok guys I didn't get much help but I finally got the stock knob removed, the shaft is .558 in diameter and made of pre-hard cold roll.I was able to run a 1/2-20 die down 3/4 of an inch and now I have a beatiful black 2 1/4 round shift knob with the white 6spd pattern engraved in it $28.00 for the knob and about 1 hours work and what a difference in feel and looks!!! A vast improvement over the stock knob,go for it guys!!

Yeah, get your son or nephew to post pix. I'm assuming from your name that you are my dad's age, so I'll cut you some slack (although he can post pix to Facebook).

One should post the link to the thread that they are referencing. Just an FYI, it helps people find what you are talking about.

LOVE it. Way better feel than the stock one.
