The Heat shield helps a CIA, and also the location of the Hood blanket can help. On the new GT500 2010, ford relocated the CIA, used a open element and added a spot through the front grill for air to come directly in and sealed of the CIA with the shield and hood blanket.

Good ol ford Though this may hurt some aftermarket CIA makers

I went to my tuner to show him my car and he was impressed how well designed the stock intake was. He told me that the so called "baffles" on the intake tube are not baffles but sort work like a resevoir for air to shoot at a higher rate into the intake. He recommend keeping it an just adding a K&N filter. By the way he was the first in receiving the TVS 2300, he has it on his G8 making 640whp and told me he pulled on a GTR going 80 to 120mph.

Are those still the OEM mufflers?

Good read.
Definately Agree hot air is bad. Is it just me or is it smokin hot under the camaro hood after you have been driving and park it. I wonder what the difference in IAT are going to be depending on the brand of supercharger kit you buy. I think the Maggies, Kenne Belle, etc really need to have a good water cooler to get those temps in location due to their mounting location. Centrifugal are probably better choice but then again if the filter is above the headers maybe not. Definately interested in what our best option is. The one with the best IAT would probably be the safest option.

I am a big fan of the Jannetty tests that show IAT right along side of HP and TQ numbers.

Wow this thread is old and I hadn't seen it prior to today. However, I've been linking to the Kenne Bell pdf for years on other car forums, when the talk would turn to HAI versus CAI (box) or FWI. Even on a supercharged intercooled daily driver I could tell the difference, between having a cone on the throttle body versus running a Wizaired (similar to CAI brand). The difference was night and day when I tested during the heat of the summer. But, some guys claimed they ran faster at the track with the hai versus cai.

soooo ADM, is there a CAI that you recommend? I've been looking at the Cold Air Induction CAI, it has a sealed box much like the factory box but I'm not sure where it's drawing the air from. Is it using the same source as the factory box? I think you can buy a "scope" to use with this unit that inserts in or around the grill but I haven't gotten that far in my research yet...

Yes we do,we designed the first sealed box style intake for the camaro almost 2 years ago.

We also designed the first airscoop for the 2010 Camaro .

I agree w/ his synopsis completely, so then why is his supercharger kit for the camaro (appears to be this way) have a hot exposed air intake filter that comes w/ the kit? At least in the pics, I`ve never seen one in person it appears to have no box or shield and just sits down in the fenderwell on the driver side. So it would definetly be pulling in "hot underhood air". At least it appears to be unshielded underhood air in the few pics I`ve seen.

Andy, you should make them a kit!
