Maybe we should make a First State Chevrolet complaint page on FB?

OP, first sorry for what happened to your car. I've read through this whole post and I'd like to make a few suggestions that I hope will help you. The idiot employee is under the insurance of the dealership, therefore he is a representative of the dealership which makes the dealership liable. They can press charges against him and take whatever actions they need to, but you can't touch him. The dealership is telling you nothing to deter from doing anything. As long as you have no information, there's nothing you can do. Obviously you're going to get a lawyer. That's a given. One thing that has not been mentioned to you, which you need to do, is get a copy of the police report. There is no way in hell that he wrecked the car and a report wasn't filled out. You're the owner of the car and are entitled to a copy. As said earlier, say nothing to the dealership. I would even suggest that no one on here do or say anything against the dealership because then the OP may be hurt by the dealership saying he was the cause of defamation or slander. That would hurt whatever case he may or may not have. If you're dealership pays out, they will only pay the cars current value. If you have GAP insurance, they'll cover the rest. After that, you should be able to take the car home, strip it, and sell parts to make up for losses. However, you're attorney should be able to have the dealerships insurance company pay for everything. Remember, get that police report. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Honestly man, I don't think you needs lawyer. Given the nature of this incident your insurance company is going to do everything they can to make gm or the dealership pay rather than you. They have more than enough lawyers on staff to bug the hell out of gm/dealer.

There has to be a police report for the accident. Even if gm/dealer isn't liable the driver of the car is.

Just like if you borrow a friends car and crash it, your insurance would be expected to pay.

I'll post on their site as well

I would still contact your insurance and explain to them what happened. They should be able to help you as well. And they have their own attorneys....thats what you are paying them for to protect you. Make them work...

Never known anyone that worked in a dealership that wasn't a dirt bag. Few and far between the good ones are.

Be calm and check your position first

Wow, this is something out of a car fanatics nightmare. I certainly hope you are able to roast their a$$ for this and get yourself a new ZL replacement. The stress this kind of crap causes are really tough on people so try and take a big breath, enjoy the holidays and know that if you need all of us from the Camaro community to rally behind you that we are all here.

Social media is a wonderful thing but we can certainly make it a disaster for them and flood every internet review system known to mankind with how bad this dealership is. I'm sure we can also arrange a few hundred of us to show up at the dealership to rally to your cause, and so be it if it happens on a weekend they are having an event.

Remember, if you need to raise the price of poker that you have a lot more resources then they do with all of us behind you. Look what's happening inside of one day.

Was going to say, anyone know how to hack their site and put a new position on there for Crash Tester

Somebody may have gone to their website and filled out a vehicle inquiry that may have gone a little like this...

"I heard you guys have a deal on a slightly used 2012 ZL1 that has been thoroughly crash tested for safety this past weekend. Good to know. Maybe I can come by and look at it. From the pics I've seen, I think that will buff out of the front right fender, if we can find it that it is."
